By the time Nintendo officially reveals the Switch 2, we'll already have all the details. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

I still think it's odd that it's white. Unless they realized that white gets grubby easier so people will buy replacements.
what are you talking about?

Nintendo waited all of this time to release a slightly more powerful Switch in the exact same form factor.
kind of like Xbox and Sony? What did you expect out of Switch 2?

At this point the reveal is all about the games, there's no surprise to expect from the hardware we've known what it was going to be since at least the Nvidia hack.

The design from all these leaks are pretty consistent. This is pretty much the design of Switch 2.

Looks decent enough but nothing majorly different. Joycons look like they might be slightly more comfortable if nothing else due to the larger size...

Curious about the weight of this thing...

Another 10 years of joycons.

I mean, not really. chinese controller makers will probably have superior replacements out within a month or so.

the last time I used actual first party joycons was literally 2 years ago. even the shittiest china low quality controllers are better.
which makes it that much more hilarious that the Hori Split Pad somehow manages to he worse than joycons 🙃

Seems pretty straightforward, maybe a bit thicker than the Switch.
I like the kickstand though, not that I ever used it much on my Switch though.

Ngl, looks like shit. All this waiting and they didn't improve the ergonomics, the analog sticks, no dpad, smh. The og switch/oled is a pain in the ass to use because it's way too thin. It causes hand cramps so you need to buy an accessory to resolve that issue. Now, we're onto the switch 2 and there have been absolutely no improvements. Horrible.

truly baffling. I wish the steam deck was like 30% less bulky, but its ergonomics, quality sticks, and rigid build are now the bare minimum for me. Switch is closer to real trash like the Razer Kishi or Logitech G Cloud.

So you get analogue triggers which also have a mini trigger for when playing with one joycon?

Was there a handheld where the analog sticks popped out, and you can twist them and lock/pop them back in for storage? I’m remembering this for some reason but not remembering if it’s real or not. Anyway I’d like something like that for better control, if done well. Those really short sticks aren’t great for aiming.

Nintendo didn't even make the effort this time around to offer anything different
What did you expect? A cord that you pulled and a mario amiibo comes out from with a spring like one of thos clown surprise boxes? LOL They should no touch it for now, let's innovate in software instead

What happened with if it ain't broke don't fix it?

What else could they do with it honestly?
Yeah seriously, a Switch that's powerful enough to get most of the major third party releases (especially from Japan) and 1st party games that don't run like shit sounds like the ideal Nintendo hardware in their current situation.

That is probably for the best

Wii U was awesome, especially after the Wii. At least the default controls on Wii U were very good and comfortable.

Here, this is like having Wii 2 with the shame shitty remote. And it's a handheld on top of it. Third party games at 60fps will never happen.

This is all I want, the Switch itself is near perfect imo other than the weak hardware, it’s hard getting excited about ports of 10 year old games.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

And I think that's amazing. What I want from the Switch 2 is exactly what this shows off - a bigger screen, more raw power, and hopefully better battery life (or, at least not worse). Changing the "gimmick" means that a bunch of Switch 1 software wouldn't be compatible.

Works for me. I didn’t want to move on from Switch concept yet anyway. Nor did I want the design to stray too far. This is a winning formula and now just want to see if the power is decent enough.

I get it, but you really can't blame Nintendo for sticking with what is working.

I agree. It's just that this is generating zero excitement, and I want to be excited :(

If even Nintendo don't surprise us anymore, then nobody will :(

The joycons are definitely the weakest link, but maybe the build quality will actually be good this time. The ones here have a different design, so I doubt the Switch 1 joycons will be backwards compatible.

If they have the same craptastic controllers as they had for the Switch I am going to pass.

I better buy it before I find out the controllers are crap. 😜
