Regarding the other 'big issue' of the day on female Custodes: what took them so long? Unlike Space Marines, they have never written themselves into a corner regarding the creation of them, Custodes do not "have to be" men and are created in a very different process. Find it funny when tourists show up from the woodworks getting their knickers in a twist over a girl in golden armour. Actually that's not fair towards tourists, as they are usually there to have fun, while the "anti fsm" Grognards that have latched onto this subject seems to revel in negativity. I don't know how someone can get so angry over the gender of a toy soldier. I welcome our golden girls and started building a Custodes jumping at some male space marine and chopping his silly head off:

Also, space marines are just one successful experiment by Cawl or Bile away from getting more than 1 gender

I agree that the anti-woke Warhammer fans are overreacting but I'm pretty sure it was mentioned that Custodes were specifically created from the sons of certain nobles.

It just seems kind of weird games works off all of a sudden says they always existed when that's never been implied. But I think it's their way of covering the loophole regarding female Space Marines so they can appease the modern audiences, for lack of a better term.

Ever since the whole custodes thing I've seen so many ridiculous takes from people who have clearly never spent a single second paying attention to the 40K universe.

A big giveaway is people conflating custodes with astartes. The Critical fucking Drinker showed his true colours by jumping on the anti woke bandwagon for this... Despite clearly not knowing the difference throughout his entire video.

Basecoat or zenithal in pink if you want a vibrant, contrasty yellow over black that you don't need to layer like a motherfucker. They're complimentary colours and pink has a warmer tone. Straight yellow next to black can appear greenish.

I personally don't like the decision Games Workshop made. It's obvious why they did it and of course it's only going to get worse.

That being said, I can't help but feel that the anti-woke is really overreacting. The writing was already on the wall anyways. However, many of those people are really embarrassing themselves and it's practically a victory for people who were calling for female Space Marines. Sorry but the anti woke Warhammer fans look really bad right now to say the least.

I never saw it as woke myself. I always thought it was more indicative of how the imperium itself sees people, not as individuals but rather as a resource to be consumed and used.

Frankly, I think that 40k handles the placement better than nearly any other franchise. I literally can’t think of a time I questioned a character being in their role.

For example Sindermann and Euphrati. They are a fantastic duo. Probably my favourite pair in the series, besides Ciaphus and … anyone.

No. A handful of retards does not suddenly change what woke means. Slacktivism is clear and blatant. Having strong female characters does not make it them woke. Aliens is not woke. Nightmare on Elm Street is not woke. Old Trek is not woke.

Being progressive or having progressive themes is not woke.

Lecturing someone with heavy handed tokens is woke. Trying to shoehorn modern day political talking points is woke. Using modern day lingo such as “chuds” and making references to denigrate a political party is woke.

Every time something is about to go well, it goes bad. Every time something is going to end them, something good happens. It is a rollercoaster ride.

Sidon was such an interesting character so I especially liked how they handled that.

Finally got some time to do some more painting. Hit a wall on my skill for my librarian but I think it is ok for a noob like me. Did some initial work on some tyranids too. I don’t enjoy them as much as the space marines for some reason. They’re fine, just not as enjoyable. Maybe after I get to some of the bigger ones

I'm almost kind of jealous on how good the Warhammer Fantasy characters are models look. Many of them pretty much surpassed what number 40,000 as far as the coolness factor goes.

Yeah. My hype for this game fell of a cliff when I saw this. You simply can't have a lead writer on a 40k game be someone with these views. Or any game, for that matter. Just makes it dry faster. Personally I don't do it as I am never in a rush to need something dried 4 seconds faster.

Painted a bunch more tyranids last night. Enjoyed it more than last time but still kinda meh.

My daughter and i finally primed the last of my box so now to finish the last few.

On a side note that made me chuckle. My daughter and I grabbed the monthly freebie last weekend and when we open one of them it was missing a leg haha. We laughed a bit, then my daughter suggested we use it as part of the base on the psychophage. I like that idea!
