No and yes, though I have no idea about the indulging fantasies part.

The responses are pretty unanimous on people not being cured by virtual child porn...so I'm not sure why this is still a discussion. It's not a thing that works well enough to stop pedophilia.

I'd imagine going from simply jerking off to virtual porn to actually having sex with a child robot would be enough a leap in experience to be somewhat of a deterrent?

It also depends on the quality of the robot and how lifelike and sexually appealing it is. A problem which arises here is that in order to make it more appealing to a pedophile you need to give it child-like characteristics... Which could be an excellent opportunity to hire engineers/programmers with pedophilia-related sexual offender records to work on these tasks. I mean they'd have a hard time finding jobs otherwise so that's killing two birds with one stone.

You sure about that? Because two minutes of googling got me this Wikipedia article which says the research is completely unclear whether virtual child porn increases or decreases the chance of someone abusing actual children.

I mean, sure, it doesn't "cure" them, but nobody's saying it would. It's a question of whether it would decrease the chance of them abusing real children.

No really opinion on this matter, but I believe there's a gap, and it's not obvious it would be filled, at least consistently.

This is what you're not getting. I don't want these people to feel normal, or that there's hope or help for them. I don't want them to indulge their urges.

We are born sinners, or to the non religious, we all make mistakes. We all have flaws.

The alcoholic goes to his AA meeting but slips up and has a drink, then he is given love and support and recovers.

The spouse abuser swears he'll never do it again and reconciles with his wife.

People are always in a constant state of turning their lives around and fucking it right back up again. Believe me. I know.

I don't want a child molester to think there is a way for him to live and learn, or that there's a toll free number where he can call and be understood.

Why? Because I watch children every day get destroyed by heir own families' lack of care and nurturing. I see the victims of abuse throw violent fits and destroy the classroom. This is not okay. I do not accept. These children are innocent and you don't deserve to touch them, imagine you're touching them, or have a robot simulate that you're touching them.

Imagine explaining that to a child, that there's a man down the street who won't hurt you because he has a video game that lets him pretend he's hurting you. He's really an all right guy aside from that. Let's invite him to dinner.

I'll reiterate. I have seen children go from straight A model citizens to being expelled from school because their parents didn't teach them proper lessons about sex, or perhaps they were abused, or both. Pedophiles can spend their lives not engaging in the despicable, exploitative, and manipulative practices, and everyone else can stop pretending like they're misunderstood or marginalized. Some people are not beautiful just the way they are, and children deserve to be protected at any cost.

I think it's more that if you had someone with violent thoughts and desires, would playing a violent video game reduce those desires and make it less likely they'd be violent towards others in real life

Yes I would definitely want the Adult 18+ mode on her, but damn how much my life would change if I had a robot that could literally do every menial task around the house including babysit the children lol. Considering what I pay in child care the price of a robot like that could be a lot of fucking money and I would still come out ahead lol.

Are you going to have an in-house government agency do it? Or let it be profit-driven in a capitalist market? I'm not able to right now but surely there's no rising trend of violence towards children due to population increase.

Yeah, but the whole argument is this.

Either robo-sex will increase, decrease, or keep the level of sexual urges constant. In the case of increase, we need it banned. In the case of stay the same, I am not too sure. In the case of decrease, we should use these. I think the problem is you are presenting the decrease case as an increase case and therefore saying it's wrong. Really it's your hypothetical that is wrong. If we are saying the decrease situation is true, you can't argue it's wrong because of an increase.

There are a lot of people who have normal sexual preferences.
Adult men or women.
But a lot of them can't get any of them to have sex with them. So they buy a doll or whatever.

Not everyone of those is a potential rapist.

Honestly, normalizing having sex with a "children" even if its a robot, feels to me like a dangerous place we shouldn't go. Living in a society where anyone can buy a robokid for sex and it's something moderately normal can be harmful beyond what pedos do with it, if you ask me.

And that's without saying that I'm not sure fucking robots will ever calm the need to have sex with real humans. After all , robots are robots, they will never be the real deal.

What happens when people want sentient sex robots? What are the morals on that? Taking that further what are the implications for creating sentient beings for the sole purpose of being sex slaves? And what of pedophiles who want robot children for sex and the mass production of said robot children who only exist for that purpose. Are we (as a society) even ready for this?
