.....why did nobody notice The Witcher 3 - PS5 port was a glitchy mess?

I have made this video a while ago to show exactly how bug is making a mess of the game. I have been playing on my ps5 and my friend turn on his stream on his ps5, it is on the left upper corner where I put the camera few times, we are on the same road, I stand almost in the middle of the road, he stands a little bit right to the road, but it is the same area exactly, my grass bugged out all over the road, while in his game it is absolutely absent on the road, and it never appears, it never bugs out, it does not shift and change, but in my game, it not only appear on the road, it appears, disappears, changes lod tecture to completely different. And no there is no fixing to it, it can be only fixed for few seconds if you restart the game, but it is not a solution of course. As the publisher of the topic in the forus SkyHighTrees said, there is is like 70% of all consoles it happens on, and 30% are lucky. I myself can attest to that, because more than half people have it on their PS5. The only solution of this problem is bombard CDPR support, but people do not care to do it, the game is pretty old despite its next gen patch. If there was simular issue lets say in Call of Dudy, it would be fixed super fast, cuz ton of people play that...

Well the Pro still has issues. In Toussaint (and only here) the clouds have flickering issues. That’s about it for issues I’ve picked up on the Pro.

They sold 50 millions copies on PS5 ? That port was definitely worth it.
No, but as PlayStation is usually number 1 or 2 in terms of multi platform releases it almost certainly sold millions on it. It sold 20 million between 2020 and 2023 alone.

even such big reviewing youtube channels as IGN had a bugged game on PS5, but were dumb enough not to notice it, cause they said nothing about it
Time check 1 minute 54th second, grass popped in right on the left of the Geralt that was running. 3.19th grass partially disappeared behind the growner on the other side of the river. And that is just White Orchard where it is indeed not really noticeable, but Toussaint, it is madly bad there, as well as pretty bad in Skellige.

Very cool comparison you made last post.

Yeah, most people are blind imo, because this glitch is so bad and ugly looking, yet people didnt see It.

Skellige and Toussaint are unplayable. Sad to see that the flickering skies in Toussaint are not fixed entirely but at least grass is good now.

The best way to play it on console os disc PS5 unpatched on PS5 Pro. If you are lucky like your friend you can play it on the regular one.

This bug makes me think about the untold differences between the ps5 consoles. Why would one glitch out and the other one work correctly?

yeah, it is exactly what I thought as well, that there gotta be some difference, some memory perhaps difference? different ram memory, like in GPUs, some have samsung, some have hynix, or some a little difference in components on motherboard, there gotta be something, but then also if it is true, then some different ps5 pro could come out that would have a bug as well. It is already sad that for most ps5 game seemingly and quite possibly is forever broken. It is forever broken for ps4 pro, who will be fixing it, it was so good before next gen patch, the best way to play it on consoles, and I thought to play it instead of ps5 version, but that one is ruined as well. So disappointed in CDPR.

Is this supposed to happen pretty much all the time or just every once in a while? Does it happen just in certain spots/regions or just anywhere in the game?

I reinstalled the game on my launch PS5 but so far I haven't been able to trigger the bug, or at least I can't see it. I did see some of the glitchy sky in Toussaint area that someone mentioned on this thread, but other than that and some occasional pop-in far in the distance I can't see foliage popping in and out of existence. I've tried both the 60 fps mode and the RT mode with identical results. It doesn't make much sense that it happens on some PS5 units and not on others, it's very weird. 🤔

Playing it for the first time now. I picked ray trace for the settings because I’ve gathered that that equates to gooder grafix. I don’t know, maybe because I’ve been playing games since 8 bit, but this shit looks incredible, what could you possible complain about?!?

Not just clouds, geometry in the far distance can also flicker. It's Toussaint exclusive and I believe I've also noticed it on PC.

you don't have it, my friend don't have it, some few other people don't have it. Me, my other friend, HighSkyTrees even on both PS5 and dozen more people who wrote to me about fixing this bug have it. You are just lucky. There is no way to trigger the bug, it just never happen on some consoles

I don't know if this has any relation to this but maybe the save files could be the key. maybe save file is somewhat bugged

here's what happens to me in Cyberpunk, I get big stutters when I shoot enemies and they die. like the game stops to a halt momentarily. for a long time I thought it was my PC. then tried a new save, and it didn't happen. it was a weird bug. I even tried using geforce now (rtx 4080 ultimate tier), and the weird bug even happened there. somehow my save file is bugged in a way that it causes the game to halt when enemies die. it makes no sense

back to the topic, I played this game at 1440p/dlss balanced with ray tracing enabled on my 3070 with textures set to high (vram limited otherwise, and still vram limited even with this option, lol). never had this issue. so must be some super specific bug

edit: nevermind, if ps5 pro fixes it, then it has to be some kind of hardware issue

most likely it has nothing to do with saves, I ruled it out by trying new game like 20 time, or actually trying new game from dlc, but also few times just totally new game. It is possible that CDPR is not able to fix it because some untold differences between PS5, and CDPR could have a good sample which did not have a bug. It is difficult to say for sure, we can only guess. It is frustrating to buy ps5 pro to fix the bug only, and not many games benefit from pro version, just those among newest that were patched
