Why do I find this personally offensive?

Do you think I wanted the power to go out? What exactly did you want me to do to prevent this, Sony?

Was it really necessary to use that tone of beep with me?

Not to mention it angrily beeps at you lol.
At least the whole "rebuilding database" or whatever it does is pretty fast on Ps5 compared to the Ps4.

How do you want them to say it?

“Dear wuss,

If you would be so kind as to next time switch things off in the correct order, we would be eternally grateful. I mean, we wouldn’t want you to lose your precious data, right”

That isn't the message I get on my PS5 when my power goes out. Mine doesn't mention the AC cord at all.

I think the OP actually yanked the AC cord out while the power was on. The condescension is justified.

I also suggest a sinewave UPS.

Switch's battery acts as a UPS built in so it is immune to this.

I put all my gaming equipment on UPS but especially if you are a PC gamer.

Modern consoles have HDD/SSDs and advanced Operating Systems, that read and write do these units.
Not powering down a modern console properly can result in data loss, or damaging the OS, the game installation, save files, or programs.
The console can't know why the power went out. So it will just say some generic stuff warning about doing a proper power down.
If you have issues with the power supply at your house, you can get an UPS. This can protect your console or PC.

Man. If this is personally offensive to you, you are in for a rough ride when life decides it’s your turn to really take it up the ass, offensively.

If the Xbox can power on after a losing power without losing its shit, the the PS5 should be able to. You would think they would of fixed this by now. PS4 had this issue too.

I don't know why you find something that benign offensive. But your playstation has no idea, nor does it care, why your system was disconnected from the wall before you shut it down. Maybe your power went out, maybe you tripped and unplugged it, maybe your cat chewed it, maybe you unplugged the wrong thing.

I bet your 1 of them that dosnt shut a computer down properly either, just fuck it off at the switch. When AI starts going all Skynet on us your 1 of the first to go mate.

I'd rather buy multiple consoles for that specific reason.

Xbox has no issues with power outages. Just boots back up. Sometimes with game in quick resume. Say what you want about how the brand is managed, the Series X is well built.

I don't think the XSX is immune to data corruption if power is lost right when a save file is being written or such. That's what this warning is about, 99.9% of the time nothing actually happens.

I feel like I'm being yelled at by a teacher when I don't turn it off right but actually either my power went out or it was left on in standby and then I unhook the PS5 to move it to another room.
