Just chiming in, I've recently been looking at replacing my PS4 DualShock's sticks with Elite sticks, and have found them for around $25 on Ebay from China here. Not sure how much they run from Xbox Support though.

I don't know what to do. Considering doing a Wal-Mart swap, this is absolutely infuriating; but then again I don't even know if I want to deal with another Elite if they're going to break. Apparently the build quality is really that bad...

That's horseshit, especially given its $250 price.
It's $200, but yea no blue tooth considering the recently released Xbox One S controller does is a HUGE deal breaker even with the $50 additional markup from the regular elite controller.

Anyone know of any stands that can fit both the elite controllers (Paddles on or off/doesn't matter) and the regular XB1 controllers that aren't plastic garbage?
I don't need charging capabilities as I use Eneloops. I just want something that is going to look classy sitting on top of my media center furniture and not look like its made out of low quality materials. I'm willing to spend some cash.

Finally run into my first issue.
The D-Pad left button registers as two clicks when I click it once quite often now. I think this is a problem with all xbox one controllers in general?
GOD. It's not the worst issue since I can just use analog stick to navigate menus but its still a bummer.

Had mine since day 1 and has seen heavy use console and PC. Works perfectly.

Check in the Accessories App for Windows 10 if vibrations aren't disabled on the profile and also to check if the firmware is up to date. Is this a new or used controller?

I have the Gears Elite Controller on preorder, but after reading so many stories of these controllers breaking, I'm not so sure about it. Are these issues happening to everyone? I don't game for more than a couple hours a day, if that makes a difference.
mine broke the other day. left bumper. i dont think i'm all that rough with my pads and i certainly took care of this one, but i play bumper jumper controls on halo, so it got a lot of use. hugely disappointed. until this is sorted i cant recommend it.

Guessing it's out of warranty? Have you tried eBay for a replacement bumper assembly? I'm on my 3rd Elite, previous 2 had a broken left bumper. They were within warranty. My current one is not. When (not if) it breaks, I'm going to try and repair it myself.
Yeah, Bumper Jumper player here, too... But my Day One never had any problems.
pretty sure i purchased it way back in april. are swapping bumpers fairly easy? i'll look into it

It's really pathetic that MS isn't providing red carpet warranties to buyers of their $150 controllers. I hope mine doesn't break.
Welp, sending my elite controller to Battle Beaver Customs was a big mistake. I got the controller back, and the sticks now feel a lot better. However, I can no longer press down right on the d-pad. Now the controller is basically useless.

Guys I'm at my wits end here. So I just got my elite controller today and was prompted to update which I did. Now it's connected to the wireless adapter but windows isn't detecting it. I've tried the adapter with a different controller and it's definitely working. Is there a way to hard reset the controller?

I don't know if you're having the same problem, but I have... "issues" with connecting my controller to the wireless adapter. Any controller, not just the elite. A lot of times it just won't connect and I'll have to fiddle with it, disconnect the adapter plug it back in and take the batteries out of the controller, put them back in and then try syncing, and again...
Sometimes they just "remember" each other, but if they don't then I have a bitch of a time getting them to see each other and it always takes me a couple minutes.
in case anyone is curious or has questions, i just successfully fixed my elite bumpers! the elite bumpers are one piece and mine snapped just to the left of center greatly impacting the ability to click in. i ordered replacement bumpers on amazon from some chinese vendor for $6 and the tools to open it up for a few dollars (make sure to get the right one, torx t8 security (it has a small dimple in the middle!). the job was simple, aside from a little difficulty in properly reassembling the bumper and xbox led assembly - it took several tries to get both left and right to click as it should rather than registering a continuous button press. it all seems to be working fine. i'm a little leary about the replacement part, as the plastic definitely feels like a lower grade than the stock part used by microsoft, but perhaps this will work better as its in a design where the plastic is meant to flex? we'll see. hopefully it'll last several months at least :/
So yeah... Remember when I said when (not if) my newest Elite breaks? It broke. Your replacement, was it at least a color match? I'm having a hard time finding the same gray/silver.

no. but the glossy black bumpers against silver triggers looks kinda cool.
the bumpers match the buttons. the set i bought also came with glossy black triggers, but i didnt want to mess with what wasnt broken.

I messed with a few different setups but never found anything I liked. I just use my setup that I use for nearly all games and struggle with my brain not cooperating all the time. I've got B and A on the bottom left and bottom right paddles, using the short paddles.
The default Gears control scheme seems like the result of not being able to use the right stick and face buttons at the same time. When you roadie run or rev your chainsaw, the right stick goes dead and the left stick swaps from strafing to turning. This is because it's assumed you're using your right thumb on the A button instead of the right stick. Now I have a paddle on the back for A, and don't need to take my thumb off the right stick. The result is that I forget to turn with the left stick instead of the right. I really wish there was an option for the sticks to not change like that when you hit A or B. I also wouldn't mind an option to make roadie run function like sprint in other games (press once to toggle sprint, which turns off if you stop moving momentarily), though I can see how some might see that as a change to the core way the game controls.
I'm using basically what I have been using for all the gears games (except Judgement).
A(roadie run/dodge/cover) to lower right
B(melee/chainsaw rev) to lower left
usually for the upper two paddles in the Gears games I use left/right on the D-pad to switch weapons, but in Gears 4 you can have the primary weapon "toggle" so I switch between having them left/right and the X button on the upper left paddle and right on the upper right paddle (since I usually have the upper set to Y/change weapons in shooters).
