Not sure what model you have but I herd on some LG's the uninstall button removes the adds. :messenger_beaming: Afterwards check to see if you can mirror your phone instead.

Chrome or derivate browsers and Firefox are improved infinitely by installing uBlock origin. The web looks nice and tidy again. Don't forget to pay the sites you support though, some suffer by blocking ads.

Reminds me, I should pay for this site.

I mean is YouTube even profitable? From. My understanding after paying staff, creators, maintenance and upkeep "breaking even" is considered a good year.
It's not about YouTube. It's about the companies willing to give YouTube crazy money because they know ads work.

That sounds complicated my dude

Just buy the $50 Walmart ONN 4K Pro streaming box, it's significantly faster than the older LG TV's, the C1 is basically molasses at this point. All you have to do is download one of the web browsers in the Play Store that allows side load installs (there are several) and navigate to the Smarttube webpage and click and install link.

It's gotta be. They do 28 Billion dollars without the need to produce anything, Hosting would be the highest fixed cost. Nintendo does 15.

As much as I dislike Google as a company they had a really good long term vision for Youtube. They operated it at a loss for a long time. I think it was only fairly recently they actually started to make money on it. I wish more companies had that kind of long term vision as opposed to not seeing beyond the next quarter. Cough, cough...Broadcom.

So this whole drama about manifest v3 was for nothing?

No, it is a problem for Chromium browsers, as the blocking extensions in V3 are limited.
Though some, such as Brave are committed to have V2 support for much longer.

Remember that Manifest V3 is not to protect the user, it's to protect Google's ad revenue.

Ι remember reading how this new manifest will prevent ad blockers completely.

So they still work but in a more limited manner? That doesn't sound so bad. I'm sure the hackers will figure it out eventually.

It doesn't eliminate ad blockers completely. No one ever said that.
But it does reduce it's effectiveness significantly, allowing Google to force more ads unto users.
