TSMC's 5 nanometer development is performing better than expected. It now appears that AMD's architecture Zen 4 for the Ryzen 5000 is manufactured using the technology.

According to TSMC, the 5-nanometer technology should give 80 percent higher transistor density, or close to a doubling, set against 7 nanometers. At the same time, 15 per cent higher performance (clock frequency) is offered at the same power consumption as before, or 30 per cent better energy efficiency at the same performance.
