I know this might sound strange, and I could be just wrong (I'm still relatively new to the game), but I wish there were more reasons to do combat with your characters in ZZZ. I know there are several endgame modes, but they are either one and done, or require a lot of sweat and skill and meta characters. What I mean by this is that once you clear Shiyu defense for the week, do the Hollow Zero weekly bounties, that's it - other than the two really hard modes - Assault and Tower stuff. I loved clearing Hollow Zero over and over to rise my license pass, but now that I reached a limit there, it's either do something really hard, or do some super-easy grinding for a few minutes until my stamina runs out.
Am I looking at it wrong? I know in Gachas people want to be able to do everything in just 15 minutes daily and that's it - but what if I actually want to play for an hour each evening?

You can do lost void instead since it has a bunch of missions for raising the exploration medal level.
Hollow zero also has a couple hidden commissions that only unlock after finding the hidden lost items, which spawn randomly.

The reality is that they don't want to overwhelm players, and a lot of the players for this game also play their other games, so they really don't want to make people start quitting due to time constraints.
Lost Void is kinda your answer to this, but it's still limited in scope until they add more featured characters. Just chalk it up to being a downside of "gacha" style games.
Also trust me, no matter how much you want to play now, you'll eventually hit a point where you'll be happy to be in and out in 10 mins.
See, this is what confuses me. If you can’t wait to get out of a game, why play it? It’s not a job or anything.
Then again, I never understood obsession with dailies in WoW while I played it.
Anyway, I would just like to have something to farm sometimes I feel like playing the game for longer. And there are stuff you can do, I guess, but the stamina system is so limiting. And yes, I know, it’s a staple of gacha games.

Pejo probably meant specifically some or all of the endgame modes, not the main story content.

Yep, specifically meant "endgame" or "farm mode" stuff, the event and new story content is engaging enough to keep playing on its own.

Not to rub it in but I literally walked through it again. Seemed easy. My best electric character is Haramusa, who everyone should have. No Yanagi or Quingyi (spelled?)

Have you tried messing with intensity levels in withering garden or other game modes? Also trying different team combinations to collect all the various resonia cards can net you some extra primos. There’s achievements for doing mono element clears, among others that give a bit a replay value.

Also perpetrator battle will go live in a few hours, should be harder than lost void but not endless tower level.
I did, I finished the garden at maximum intensity with Evelyn, Miyabi and Astra (I know it’s a silly team but I was like - what happens if I put two top dps in a team for fun and I wanted to compare them).
I still have some content to go through, but agent stories don’t let me play with my own characters for example.
Again, all this is not a big complaint, just that I would like more farming content in the game. Still, I have things to do - it’s more like I’m expecting a drought and the fact you can do new story stuff and events that every patch brings in one day makes me worried a bit. I really like the game, so I hope there’s something to do in it.

It worked out later, even if it was pretty close. 3min 33 sec. Electro side.. Qingyi i do not have. Rina i just did build yesterday. Builds the ones that are suggested on Prydwen.

Very strange cuz it worked for me for the last few SD. You probably haven't invested in the charcters in the right way, don't have good S rank discs with good substats, all skills unlocked, lvld up to the max etc. Idk how else to explain this tbh.

None of my characters have discs with good substats, just serviceable. Doesn't your Yanagi have her engine?

That must be the reason, because I don’t even have an electric team, I brute-forced an S rating with Evelyn + Astra + Koleda on the electric side and Miyabi on the other.

You don't have to use the enemy weakness as your main dps, just use whatever they aren't resistant against if you can get more damage out of it.
I literally did all of shiyu with team one jane/seth/astra and team two miyabi/lighter/lucy.
In my best run jane/seth beat their side of shiyu 6 in 2m 20s, the miyabi team is always around 1 minute, so as long as I don't reach 4 minutes with team one it's an easy S rank.
Jane and seth are very synergistic but even more so paired with astra.

Marionette was easy with Miyabi, but I’m still only 1 star on Typhon Destroyer lol Haramusa is my best electric character and he’s not fully built. Oh well.

Just finished that fishing event. I think it was pretty good. Nice variety of activities. The fishing was kinda fun, if a little easy. Nice story that wrapped up cleanly, and the little sidequests were fun in their own ways. Piper pretending to befriend Grace only to steal parts so her machine wouldn't work got a laugh out of me.
I wish the fishing mechanics were a bit deeper, but I understand that they had to make it for the lowest common denominator gacha player. We'll probably never see the fishing system again after this patch, but it was nicely done.

I haven't put any time into looking into this mode until tonight, just did a dry run with a few of my better teams and barely eked out 2* on two of them and only got one star on the 3rd. What's most important when doing these fights? Should I be looking to maximize the individual stage buffs and selectable buffs or just use usual tactics and go ham on DPS?
I know I still have a lot of building to do in my teams, but I didn't expect to be essentially shut down by this so badly. Then again, I only gave a cursory glance to the stage mechanics, so if those are important for high scores, that's probably part of my problem. My best score was with my Yanagi team on Dead End Butcher, where I maxed out the 5000 points by doing the assists. Not sure how I could make up another 5000 points by just fighting better though, that's where I'm kinda stuck. Granted, Electric isn't a weakness, so I'm not sure if that's a huge part of it too.
Does weakness add like 10-15% damage or is it more than that? I could drag Ellen out but she needs skill levels and better discs to even think about doing better than my Yanagi.

as you can see in his scores, two of them he wouldn't have reached 3 stars without the performance points, so yes unless you can completely blow past the requirement (I scored ~34k with miyabi last rotation), then the performance points are important yes.
You can see that the second boss has bonuses for disorder/anomaly, so your yanagi team would do better there instead of butcher

Tbh, I didn’t really look at the stage information
I only paid attention to weakness and the buff you can select. And as Reizo mentioned some stages I just barely made it lol.
My strategy to just go ham basically, I know that’s not very helpful but ya in just try to do as much damage as possible. I do actively use piper and her ex spin to set off as many disorder as as possible in that one fight. The others it was just spamming moves and it’s as they came up.
I wasn’t able to get 9 stars the last 2 times, so I think the bosses and available buffs were just advantageous to me this time.
All my characters are pretty well built tho, good discs, main skills maxed, secondary skills 1 off.
Just wanted to share my teams to give some people a starting point on teams as I’ve had issues hitting 9 stars myself.
