How Do People Think That The Order: 1886 Will Turn Out?

The value for money just isn't there. The game is most likely going to be around 7-9 hours long and due to its very linear nature, won't have much replayability at all. It'll look good and play good enough. I'm expecting a low 70s meta.

They really should have slapped in a quick multiplayer mode in the vein of gears of war. Could have been surprisingly good.

Looks pretty great. Im swamped with games (ps4 is great after all) but I'll probably get it over the summer.

Low 70s metacritic. Reviewers will complain abiut it being cinematic and having no MP even though there's nothing wrong with them
(Probably a few complaints about QTE).

There will be a few comparisons to Gears, most of will probably declare that better.

As for me, if the story is good, I'll probably love it.

I think it will be a decent game, but nothing memorable. Similar to Uncharted it will be driven by visuals and scripted events but will lose appeal quickly on repeated play through. I'd like to be proven wrong, but this game definitely going for that cinematic feel with the black bars and emphasis on story.

Hopefully they'll have taken the time to flesh out the world and have some character development. I'm really looking forward to it! I'm perfectly fine with cinematic games.

It will be a graphically impressive game that involves lots of hiding behind cover and shooting enemies and eventually moving in a mostly-linear fashion. There will be a fair number of cutscenes and some QTEs. The length of the game will probably be more than 6 hours and less than 20. Its production values will be very high.

People who like the above things will probably like it. People who dislike those things will probably dislike it. Others will not feel particularly strongly about the game itself, but will still use it as a blunt instrument to bludgeon others in system wars arguments.

I don't think it looks like anything special. It'll probably be decent, but there's nothing about it that looks even remotely interesting to me.

I'd love to hear from the people giving the gameplay hate on how it could be improved? Let me guess, ''next gen gameplay''? It's a story driven TPS. You shoot people from a third person perspective. It's got cover, dynamic melee, awesome looking weapons and IMO, a lot that they haven't shown. I'm expecting an 8/10 game. CE Pre ordered as soon as it was announced. Cannot wait for it.

I think it will be a competent cover shooter with a low 80's Metacritic score. I'm just not sure that many people are really interested in playing a competent cover shooter. It made GAF's "Most Anticipated" list so I admit I could be completely wrong.

I can read the reviews now:

Wait why is there no color? All games should be bright and colorful regardless of the intended mood or atmosphere.

Why is the gameplay so boring? I want next gen gameplay! I need parkour and jetpacks or it isn't a real next gen game.

1080p? Gah why is this industry so obsessed with graphics?! None of that matters.

Have doubts about the variations in level encounters, the freedom the game gives us along with QTE.

Everything else like the story, art, visuals, sound, music, gunplay etc I'm very excited about.

It will be all dependant upon the story. If it is well told and engaging and entertaining I could see the game being phenomenal.

This type of game will be made or broken by the strength of the story and the connection with the players to the characters.

I will think long and hard about a full purchase or just try hard to get it from Gamefly.

A movie is 2 hours and never changes but if it is great it does not stop me from watching again. Same with linear games. Played TLOU probably 6x

I think it'll end up being a really good game, but because it is a standard 3rd person shooter, some will rail on it. I'm super excited for it. Will pick it up whenever I get a PS4.

From what I see...it's gonna be an average third person shooter with a cool theme. 5-10 hour campaign.

Hopefully it takes us all by surprise.

Yep this is where I see it as being too, especially the last bit, typical for a Sony game

I actually think it looks great, but I have changed my mind about going in day one. I need to take some time with all of the games I have bought over the past few months before stuff like Bloodborne comes out.

People will comain about it, but it'll actually be a great game. Sort of like Kane & Lynch or AC:U but not as bad. Probably will score in the high 7s.

Based on what they've shown so far, I'm expecting a high-tech graphical showcase with a bad story and middling gameplay. Oh, and lots and lots of cinematic QTEs.

That was my view at first. But the more the game got polished the more I thought it could actually be good. Seems like the press who were also negative about it have also changed their tune.

Although you are right, story could be mediocre. Could be too short. No way to really know at this point.

From what I played at PSX, it has good gameplay with great atmosphere and an intriguing story and characters. It will do just fine me thinks. Will it blow my mind? I don't know. Visuals aside, nothing I've seen made me think it would. Would I enjoy it thoroughly? Probably

What did you make of the stealth sections?

I have it pre ordered and I'm excited about it. The setting and story appeal to me.

My only concern is the games length. I'm hoping for 10+ hours.

Pretty typical shooter gameplay that doesn't do anything especially great, but also doesn't do anything especially wrong.

Lots of QTEs and scripted sequences.

Great production values and graphics.

I expect I'll find it to be a decent 3-star game.

Unfortunately, I got the shorter version of the demo that didn't have the stealth sections. From what I've been told, stealth sections are few and far between and are really not core to the gameplay. They are more like cool down sections in between bigger levels. So I'm not too concerned about them.
