I can't *believe* these lazy developers keep making file sizes so damn large. Btw, how does technology work?
Just played with my buddy's on his new Swift monitor.

First, I wasn't impressed much at all; but we soon realized the "red light" wasn't on - thus G-Sync wasn't working. Once we figured that out... Daaaaaamn.

I was gonna hold out for that 34" Ultrawide 144Hz IPS G-Sync w/ curve. Pretty much the perfect monitor, IMO, at least for now.

1. Too bad it's an Acer
2. I haven't seen ANYTHING in the last two months to hint it's anywhere near release.

At this point, the Swift is regularly in stock at $750 on Amazon. I think I may just end up going for that. It's a massive upgrade over the shit I'm using now, anyway.

So how is 4k gaming for reals? Find 1440p to be good enough, and UI often end up super small for some games due to shit scaling.... scared how those will play out in 4k.

Same with windows. 100% scaling is perfect at 1440p 27". Things might be too small at 4k at the same res...

I'm having issues with Heaven. Getting wild fluctuations in memory usage and FPS, especially after the dragon scene in the town square. Temps are running awfully high, too...

This is just running at 1080p with all bells and whistles to compare to previous cards.

Have it on auto in PrecisionX. It's easily maxing out to 90c in Heaven - the specified max. I think that's where the memory bandwidth is taking a crap. Not sure what's going on with it. I ran FireStrike a few times and had no issues.

Edit: Ok, I haven't used PrecisionX to mess with a fan curve in a long time. Just toggled it to auto - thought it was already enabled. Let's see what happens.

Honestly, Precision X has been janky imo after they re did the software in house. I used to prefer it over Afterburner, but now I don't use it anymore. Give Afterburner a try if Precision still gives you trouble.

Hey man, thanks so much for nailing my issue right off the bat. I probably would've spent another hour poking around to get it right.

After enabling the auto fan profile, it ran like a dream. I'll upload a screen cap of the result in a second.

This is the first card I've ever had this issue with, and I'm a chronic upgrader.

Temp for the card topped out around 69c, and it's certainly louder than the 980 under load, at least for me.

I remember long ago there was an unofficial guideline that I should have 2.5:1 Main Memory to VRAM ratio or something.

It does seem harmless when I think about it.

FireStrike default in-depth results. Score was 13264. I can post benches at other settings if anyone with a similar setup wants to know the result.

I played first level of Crysis 3, Very High, MSAA 4x (lol) at 4k....between 36-45 fps. I got it on ShadowPlay. Trying to upload it.

Looked so good. MSAA 4x is completely unnecessary at 4k though.

i7 3820 @ 3.6GHz
16GB 1600MHz CL8
ROG Swift with G-Sync
NVIDIA 3D Vision

Would be good to jump ahead and pick this up before I upgrade the rest of the PC later in the year, but the real question is whether the gains are worth it.

How smooth does that feel with G-Sync? I know they say above 30fps feels good, typically... but I'd rather hear your impressions, since I'm sure you're used to 60+ most the time.

Can you post comparison shots between the different AA methods at 4K? Just curious

Might want to try MFAA as well, which I believe crysis 3 supports. Should provide a massive boost and still retain great IQ

Yeah I was just curious to see how the TX's performed maxed out at 4k with MSAA 4x. Still playable.

If you get the time, can you find out what is the max settings you can push and still maintain 60 fps @ 4k?

You are still running at stock speeds right?

I really wish we could have got the actual Nvidia cards here, i would have loved one of those stickers. We never get any cool stuff =/
