OH shit. It's like I feared.
It's not kid friendly at all. It's not for kids. Kids are going to be bored.
They went the watchmen route, with the wrong franchise.
Box office prediction adjusted to $300m WW for me.

Honestly, confusion, philosophical debates, and boredom is probably more condemning recommendation for not bringing kids than violence and adult themes are for some parents.

This might be the single best tweet about the movie I've read.

I felt like the entire PTSD subplot was way to show that same 'down-on-his-luck' side of Tony without having to actually touch the topic of alcoholism (which would never happen thanks to ratings I am sure).

Not sure about that. PTSD is every bit as heavy of a topic as alcoholism. He was also drunk as fuck and acting like a dick to everyone for like 80% of Iron Man 2.

Sometimes they are. For instance, my opinion is better than that of anyone who liked Iron Man 3. There are probably people whose opinions are worse than yours based on similar metrics.

Still a matter of perspective. For someone that liked Iron Man 3, the opinion of those who also liked it are better than yours.

At least we can sink our expectations to absolute garbage and have it exceeds those expectations.

I was never really sold on the movie but I'm still gonna catch it.

lol $300m worldwide? C'mon. It'll do that and more domestically.

I've been pretty pessimistic on it, even before the reviews today. But really $300m worldwide would be beyond catastrophic failure for WB. Even 'bad' comic book movies have done over $300m worldwide. But after this, I'm starting to doubt my $850m guess.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
I hated MoS and this film looked quite bad from the beginning... Ouch.

Hyped for Civil War though.

I honestly despised Iron Man 2 and have probably blocked out most of the movie from my memory. Was he straight up borderline alcoholic in parts? Or just sipping on cocktails and being his normal dick self?

I agree that PTSD is every bit as heavy as alcoholism, but I do feel like it is easier to portray in a PG-13 movie like this. Especially when its PTSD over killing space aliens and not other humans.

I wasn't trying to say PTSD was a lighter topic or anything. The reason I thought it worked so well is precisely because it is just as heavy of a topic with some overlap regarding how it affects people
so it felt like a great way to present that classic storyline in a PG-13 movie.

I thought Eisenberg's lex was pretty good. He wasn't supposed to start becoming a crazy villain in this movie I think, he's already one.

Wow.. and one of my best friends is really excited about going to see this, I guess we are still going but what a score.

I'll go with low expectations and I'm not telling him anything about the reviews :( ..

Here hoping for Civil War and
Apocalypse
to end being really good.

I don't blame you for blocking out the worst scene in MCU history.

Worst quality video to match my feelings about this scene.

Only thing that scene really did right is convey that Tony is in a downward spiral and his drinking is only accelerating that.

No they are not. This is not science, this is subjective opinion, and people like what they like. Transformers movies made around $4 billion even though critics hated them. People enjoy what they enjoy.

I never understood the Iron Man 3 hate.

I thought it was a great twist on a classic Iron Man story.
To me one of the most iconic IM stories was the Demon in a Bottle one where he is battling and losing his fight against alcoholism.

I felt like the entire PTSD subplot was way to show that same 'down-on-his-luck' side of Tony without having to actually touch the topic of alcoholism (which would never happen thanks to ratings I am sure).

Am I the only one who looked at it that way?
Thats actually... huh. I just enjoyed IM3 because it was a lighthearted action flick. Okay, the part with the kid was a bit too much, same goes for a few things in the final act... but I stil laugh about Trevor.

The opening montage set to Bob Dylan is still pretty dope.

If only BvS could be a 2-hour montage set to Bob Dylan or Johnny Cash.
See, I can't even remember that lol.

Not gonna take Metacritic very serious. Deadpool is a 6.5 there lol. I wait for the fans and normal people opinion. Then these "critics"
All i have seen from trailers is have a feeling its gonna be great. With maybe the best Batman we have ever seen.

Metacritic doesn't have the same gravitas with films than it does with games.

Deadpool is like 84% @ RT.

Aiii

So not worth it
metacritic is so much more on the money with these films lately than rt is.

Metacritic aggregates arbitrary scoring systems as if they were one and the same. Your 6/10 is not my 6/10 and is not someone else's 6/10. That's what makes RT so much better as an indicator (and mind you, aggregate sites are indicators and not hard facts about what sucks and what is great), it just tells you if the general review opinion is leaning positive or negative.

I've been text blasting all my friends overnight tonight keeping them up to date on the RT score.

I made a bet on the RT score with a friend last week. I said <50%, he said >80%.

Yeah he's been getting a lot of douchey smug texts from me all day.

the only problem with RT scores is that if 3 out of 6 friends tell me to go see a movie at the theatre, I probably would

but If it has lower than a 50 percent on RT, whih is statistically a similar concept, unless im very interested beforehand I wouldnt

some great, great movies like True Romance or Speed Racer (fuck you) have low scores

but

none of this matters cause its fuckin 35 percent lol

Snyder is the antithesis of Singer when it comes to their respective superhero franchises.

Snyder:
Movies make for amazing trailers
Great visuals and overdone but beautiful fight scenes
Comic accurate aesthetic
Horrible storytelling
Horrible pacing
Everyone thinks his movies will be good beforehand despite a bad track record

Singer:
Movies make for poorly done trailers, not so hype
Okay visuals, limited fight scenes
Not comic accurate at all for the most part, aesthetically
Great storytelling
Great pacing
Everyone thinks his movies will be bad beforehand despite having a decent track record (a great one when it comes to X-Men though).
