Since we always do a "Eating Crow" Thread for Marvel movies, when they turn out sucessful, can we do a "Sorry. We should have believed you." Thread for this one?

Those are the worst threads. Marvel can make a film about anything and it will be successful.

No one should doubt Marvel again when Thor films gross nearly 650M WW. Marvel no longer knows how to fail.

How is the fighting? Is it raw? Powerful? DBZ like?

So where's the crow that would be served to the people criticizing the trailers? Blind MCU-fanboys just hating on DC movies..... bad trailer for a great movie....

Still excited to see this tomorrow. :)

There's literally no way this is as bad as Batman and Robin.

No way. I refuse to believe this isn't a nightmare. I'll wake up any minute now.

Any minute now...

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
Man, how did Warner let the DC universe fall so far behind Marvel? They are in desperate need of their own Kevin Feige at this point.

Hehe.

I honestly can't believe it. I expected some bad reviews, but lower than B&R...this is just madness.

it isn't lower than batman and robin or forever. RT culture is WOAT. this is a fun thread but man move away from the percent and look at the average score at least if you want to gauge by the numbers.

Should i read the entire thread or is there some kind of summary?

< Like Mike, Space Jam, The Room, Fantastic 4 and Silver Surver and I forgot a few others.

Was it only a day ago that I read an article saying the early response on the movie was very good? I guess this proves never do trust early buzz for movies.

Well, it sounds like it's much better than Batman and Robin, just not as good as Batman Forever. I'd buy that.

Forever was pretty great, so while still disappointing it's not as good as Forever, I guess I can live with that.

Still crazy that it's reviewing so poorly. Really seems to have rubbed a lot of people in the wrong way.

There is no way this movie is worse than Man of Steel.
At this point I'm expecting them to have put something in there that general critics didn't like.
Maybe something along the lines of Batman telling Superman to go fuck himself. Or superman straight up murdering people, in droves.

From the trailers alone it looked worse.

Maybe that's the reason why they are/were gearing up so fast with the whole dccu slate because they have no clear direction what they want and someone saying "Maybe we should let him/her direct this movie. ..."

I really bumped out now, but still going to see it today.

Hopefully WB will rethink (if BvS really turns out like this) their plans and delay justice league and attach a different director or let Affleck co-direct the movie if it isn't already too late.

Schmoes saying it's not a bad movie at all, it's an 'okay' movie. Just has a lot of stuff going on.
They're not mentioning spoilers, but what I am getting is that Doomsday still is the big problem.

Oh damn.

I woke up today, saw the reviews, felt bummed out, returned my tickets, read this thread, and bought tickets again.

It's going to be worth it just for the spectacle. The greatest gladiator match in the history of the world, Snyder the Divider vs. Fanboys of the world.

Day one.....on streaming site......although I never rallied the interest to watch Man of Steel when it was on Netflix.

Batman and Robin probably has more potential as a drinking game, where as this sounds like a trudge.

Critics generally are either hating it or are left lukewarm. Fan screenings (including Gaf reactions) came off as generally fairly positive, if still mixed.
Perfect. I have little faith in the views or opinions of 'critics'. I trust fan reactions far more than anything. I'm not expecting a masterpiece but as long as it offers me 2 hours of entertainment with some good fight scenes (which is what Man Of Steel pretty much offered), then I'll be fairly satisfied.

I suppose it's probably best to keep my expectations low. When my brother told me Star Wars TFA was one of the best movies he saw, there are no prizes for guessing how I felt after I left the movie theatre...

OH shit. It's like I feared.
It's not kid friendly at all. It's not for kids. Kids are going to be bored.
They went the watchmen route, with the wrong franchise.
Box office prediction adjusted to $300m WW for me.
