Batman killing folks, Zack really wanted a Crime Syndicate movie.

fuck it what have you got to lose now, pull off the Thunderbolts twist, Supes says at the end of the film his name is Ultraman.

I wonder if Eisenberg's Lex was written to be manic from the beginning. He was so jarring in the trailer.

Always seemed like a clear misunderstanding of the character...as well as other characters.

Maybe they got inspired by Dark Knight Strikes Again instead of Dark Knight Returns.

I find it deeply depressing that a decent-to-great looking movie (Suicide Squad) by a filmmaker I trust to do a good job (Ayer) is going to be saddled with being tied to a universe with this by all accounts wet fart of a film in it

I can just not watch it I guess.

They jammed too much crap into it, got Batman, Superman and Lex Luthor wrong (Probably WW as well) and...probably 8 other things as well.

Doesn't really sound like the problems are with the characters themselves. I see a lot of reviews positive on Lex, Superman, WW, and even Batman. A few complaints about Batman but that's debatable.

...

you must be reading stuff about a different film

I made it less than a minute.

"I find the intellectual intelligence of others to be far less superior to that of my own."

Where's my red pen...

I have no idea what that means

It's like a paradox

If he finds other less superior, than does that mean they're still better than him but at the same time not superior enough for him to notice? @_@

Well people doubted the Eisenberg casting from the start. It doesn't surprise me one bit. I mean, we've been wrong about casting villains (I wasn't sure about Ledger, well, I had to take back my words) but man it must be hard casting the right person for those roles. To this date... the only villains I really liked were Ledgers Joker, Molina's Dr. Octopus, McKellen and Fassbender as Magneto and Hiddlestons Loki.

From all the reactions I've read/seen the most common critic is basically Snyder doing his thing and messing up the structure of the movie (editing, pacing) and the overall story or rather explaining/providing the motivations of each character.

Uhh? Most people actually seem to be pleasantly surprised by Batfleck, and overwhelmingly negative about Eisenberg's Luthor.

I think I read that they wrote Lex around Eisenberg after they casted him. Or something like that. So it seems like they brought the problems onto themselves really.

Well I was referring to the character themselves, notsomuch the acting. That post said reviewers were complaining that they got the characters wrong, so that's what I was addressing.

Yeah Affleck's batman sounds pretty good other than (Spoilers)
the killing part,
it's the character I most look forward to seeing.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in my friend group who is more excited for Civil War/wasn't all that pumped for this one. Guess I made the good call! I'll still see it, but 6 bucks on a Tuesday sounds way better now.

It sounds like it's a Man of Steel case. I'll love every second of action and fight scenes, and the rest will make me yawn.

Eisenbergs Lex probably fits in with this Snyder Batman/Superman movie.

If we had a top notch actor playing a really good Lex, I doubt it would fit in with the tone Snyder has set.

Christ, remember when we had the first trailer for Man of Steel? The tone of that was awesome but it didn't carry over to the movie. Now this has completely changed, probably due to Avengers but it hasn't been dealt with very well.

the only problem with RT scores is that if 3 out of 6 friends tell me to go see a movie at the theatre, I probably would

but If it has lower than a 50 percent on RT, whih is statistically a similar concept, unless im very interested beforehand I wouldnt

some great, great movies like True Romance or Speed Racer (fuck you) have low scores

but

none of this matters cause its fuckin 35 percent lol

Well you also heavily weight your own friends opinion due to you knowing them and having an idea bout their tastes. Possibly it's because your friends generally all like the same movies as you so even a 50/50 split means there is a good chance there will be enough in there for you to possibly like it.

If you knew every one of those critics, you'd probably weight some opinions more than others but since it's just a number from a bunch of people you've never heard of before, you have to just look that their ratios of likes to dislikes for what it is. So if a random assortment of people from all different background and preferences have a 50/50 split, there is more of a chance that you could fall anywhere on that spectrum of people, but in that case, generally most are going to agree the film has it's problems.

I guess the idea was to do a "modern" corporate mogul/genius inventor Luthor.

I don't see why they didn't just straight-up rip the character from Ex Machina, though. He would have been a much better Luthor.

I swear to you on everything dude, I thought that dude was Scarecrow or Riddler. I never in a million years would have guessed Lex Luthor.

Ridiculous

If only there hadn't been a kid in Returns we'd be watching Singer's 3rd/4th Superman movie right about now.

Maybe with a Bale crossover instead of TDKR.

And we'd still have the amazing Williams score too.

Ouch at that score ! I thought it would be higher with a lot of people saying it was still a bit better than MoS. I guess people are disappointed that it's not the movie they were hoping for and are giving it bad reviews for that reason.

This is where reviews fail a bit though, because it doesn't make much sense for BvS to be better than MoS but have a lower average review score.

I'm going on Sunday and will keep my expectations around MoS levels and hopefully I will come out of the cinema, having enjoyed what's in the movie.

Well this is strange. Norwegian newspapers are giving it out 4 and 5 out of 6, saying it's an action spectacle. Some are even saying it's the best comic book movie to date.

Google translated reviews
VG - Simply Tremendous!
Dagbladet - Ben Affleck is a super Batman in the most interesting superhero movie since "The Dark Knight."
Aftenposten - The wealth of talent and bravado

I'll be going in with low expectations, though.

But i find it pretty funny that a lot of people in this thread seem to be bashing a film they haven't seen yet. Guess it's gang mentality at it's best.

I trust a critic and bitter internet fans about as far as I can fart out a tuna can next to some seagulls in a windstorm, so I'll just reserve judgement till I see it.

I don't think the movie will have legs on repeated viewings. It's really not a movie you want to watch twice in a short time.
