It's funny to see people suggesting that WB pay Nolan whatever he wants to work on the DCCCU.
You guys know Nolan is filthy fucking rich now right? He made more off of Interstellar than WB did. What in god's name could WB offer him to make him come in and sweep up after somebody else's mess? He already can do whatever the fuck he wants.
I mean... no? It's not a good movie, but there are pieces that could have made a good movie. Scenes that on their own are pretty great, but don't ultimately flow well with the grander story, or that needed a more delicate touch.
Phantom Menace is an emotionally void husk of a movie with nothing going for it.
Semi-realistic options for Justice League without Snyder? WB can ask James Wan to move from Aquaman to Justice League. Even move JL to Aquaman's slot in July 2018.
Dream is letting Jeff Nichols have his way with the franchise.
Caught it yesterday. Honestly didn't think it was that bad, and enjoyed it a lot more than MoS. Felt more like MoS and BvS should switch RT scores in my book.
He had interest in directing Aquaman. You're right, he passed because, in his words, it's jumping on a moving train. But what if WB said, do what you do, Jeff. Here is a big bag of cash. He's got the talent to course correct and deliver on the ideas and tone.
Was anybody else let down by the action sequences? Nothing in here was remotely close to Smallville or even at the Zod level. I was expecting a lot better after MoS.

Yeah. They weren't bad but I expected better from Snyder.
The BvS fight was also disappointing because i feel like we say half of it or more in the trailers/previews. There was absolutely nothing surprisingly or daring about that battle. I figured they'd get a bit more creative playing with the man vs god angle.
The Doomsday fight was actually more interesting to me, which isn't saying much.
Came back from a packed IMAX crowd. Older folk. Got an applause at the end.
Not perfect by any means, but I feel like I saw a different movie than a lot of critics. Faults and all, a solid 7/10, and prolly an 8. Luthor was bad at some parts. Give me more Batfleck.
I absolutely hated X-Men The Last Stand. I could live with ASM 2. It was just an unnecessary movie to me. Tell me it's not as bad as X-Men The Last Stand. Lie to me, dammit.
I'll say more when I get home-but I feel like everything has been said much better than I could. There are glimmers of good parts. I fully eat crow-Affleck was decent in this. Gal Galdot as Wonder Woman was by far the best part for me.
But there's so much more than is bad. It's true that the first half is just so dull...and the second half is just stupid. Who edited this-Edward Scissorhands? This complaint does seem more apt for the already slow first half-which is just a ton of exposition scenes strung together one after another with no transition. Literally 60 seconds after the desert scene with Lois, after a scene wth Holly Hunter, it cuts back to Lois on to something else. It's jarring and really noticeable.
I mean, we all knew it was coming but Eiseneberg is SO BAD. Just awful. Completely wrong tone and performance by a mile. And not only that-the tone is purposely long winded and annoying. Every monologue of his is just painful to sit through.
There's so much more that I could talk about, but it's beating a dead horse-everyone else already said it.
What I liked-Batman, The Batcave set, Alfred, Wonder Woman-especially her theme and that's about it.
Lois had one great moment that reminded me of the Lois from the comics-when Perry tells her she's flying coach and she pops back in and says "Business Class." That type of raporte was missing sorely.
Also the "Martha" moment is so dumb, but Batman's rescue of her and the "I'm a friend of your son" was great.
Oh by the way for what it's worth, there were many showings at my theater, but my screening wasn't even half way full. There were a few people that applauded when Wonder Woman appeared and when the credits ran. But no standing ovation.

The only way to save the DCEU is for flash to stop Man of Steel from happening with time travel. Like if he can contact bat man thru the speedforce, why the hell did he not warn Superman about Zod? Or just speedpunch Lex in the dick when he was about to create doomsday.
You know as I'm sitting here all these emotions well up inside of me. I remember being a little kid watching superman the movie at home, and it was special. This character means a lot to me.
It's an OK movie with some real spurts of greatness. A directors cut may very well make this a really good movie. There's some REALLY cool stuff in there.
Same here. We had more reaction to the trailer overall. Other than a few people applauding at the parts I mentioned earlier, my crowd was exiting the theater like they just witnessed a car wreck. Just emotionless and staring straight ahead.

Yeah..it's like there should be an explanation of the score in the OP so people can stop with that nonsense. Although, they'd probably keep doing it anyway..
5-6/10 sounds about perfect for the movie. It seems like critics could've went either way, and specifically chose the negative way because it gets more juice
Mine got laughs a few times. The ones I remember were (start and end minor spoilers)
superman zooming forwards to take out the guy holding Lois hostage, the Batman thing people just mentioned when he just gets tossed around like a ragdoll, and the "Don't worry, I'm a friend of your son" bit near the end
.
Also random aside - I love how weighty Superman feels when he's going fast. It's not like on Smallville or The Flash where a lot of the time if people turn their head away they might not notice the superspeed. The sonic booms we hear a lot were really cool touches.
