Am I the only one who thought Adrian was horribly miscast as well? I never see anyone mention it.
Yes and no I think. He did quite well in a couple of scenes I think but vet all he just didn't work too well for me either.

Of course paet of the issue was I have such a strong sense of all the characters whenever the film version felt "wrong" it jarred. And Goode just felt wrong for me a bit too much.

Least they got most f the rest spot on.

In more BvS my sons have just brought me Sad Afleck to watch (which they love) and informed me they've no interest in the film (I offered to take 'em after I'd seen it with a friend). In their case the reviews and surrounding social media response has put them off. To be fair they didn't much like MoS either though.

So the next movie just starts with the fully formed Justice League in the watchtower, mid-conversation with The Flash, as he's describing to them every previous Warner Brothers DC adaptation as if it's an alternate universe he's peeked at while using the Speed Force, and they all have a laugh or five at the weird rubber Batman with his own credit card, and the Green Lantern who saves people via giant Hot Wheels track, and the grumpy Superman whose dad tried to tell him he shouldn't have saved a bus full of kids, and then Plastic Man's head pokes in from three rooms over to tell them he's spotted something on the radar, and they all go in and we just have a two hour family-friendly action comedy superhero film that tugs at your heartstrings in the final 20 minutes.

Right?

That's how we move forward, right?
I wish but hope died this day.

Depending on who pitched it WB is batty enough to allow it.

I mean....they let that knightmare scene stay in the movie

You should have seen how weirded out the audience was hahaha

hmm..

Superhero films Batman v. Superman is better than:

- Spider-man 3 - arguable, at least you can laugh at SM3
- Amazing Spider-man 1 & 2 - ASM1 is definitely better, ASM2 is arguable because both are horrible
- X-men Last Stand - arguable
- Wolverine Origins - agreed
- Deadpool - you are out of your mind
- Fantastic 4 (all 3 of them) - better than Fant4stic, but the old ones are arguably better
- Dark Knight Rises - you are out of your mind
- Batman Forever - agreed
- Batman and Robin agreed
- Iron Man 2 & 3 - I dislike both of these movies but no
- Ant-Man - no
- The Spirit - haven't seen this
- The Green Lantern - agreed
- The Green Hornet - haven't seen this
- Superman Returns - agreed? can barely remember this
- Daredevil -agreed]
- Elektra - agreed

Wow!

Gonna go see this with the wife after dinner with the in-laws. I'm looking forward to it. I'm not a diehard fan of any DC property and I enjoyed MoS as it's own imagining of the character, so I look forward to seeing more of that universe in BvS. Pray for me.

This sounds like a Phil Lord & Chris Miller Justice League movie.

Give it to me now.

Fuck the hate
Movie was perfectly fine
Miles better than age of ultron or man of steel and what more could you possibly expect?

It is super disappointing that a bunch of asshole executives somewhere thought it was a good idea to spoil the whole fucking movie before release though.
I thought it was slightly better than man is steel but that's not a compliment. I vastly prefer all of the marvel movies over this one but it did have some good parts like Affleck batman and wonder women. It's a really bad movie with some cool moments. I'm sad they dropped the ball with this one.

Wow!
I took out the ones that you are delusional about but these there are some arguments to be made for those movies that would be worst but it's not much better than these.

I truly have no idea how some people just disliked deadpool...

aside from force awakens and dark night, it was one of the best pre-release watches that I went....

So much energy from the people in the theater... loling all around, claps and shit....

And the rating at 5/10

Pretty fair IMHO

I can't get over how much heart Deadpool had. I was just expecting it to be 90 minutes of irreverent shit with an occasional fight scene, but there was some serious warmth to it. Wade & Vanessa's relationship, Colossus trying to turn Deadpool into a hero. Even the small stuff like Wade going after the stalker in the beginning or how everyone at the bar stands up to the Weapon X guys. I came out of it thinking it would fit in perfectly with the MCU.

Same, felt like a raunchy MCU film.

No way. It's a fun movie but outside of the jokes between him and morena I didn't buy that relationship at all (certainly better than Clark and Lois tho)

Deadpool is a 6/10 movie.

It's a real crowd pleaser tho. Much easier to sit through but not particularly impressive

BVS is better than a great majority of superhero movies. In regards to above yes, both Ant-Man are "better" than BVS. Both are comedies though, this is a drama. Pretty different.

It's no Avengers or Dark Knight, but it's pretty darn good. There is some very good stuff in there.

Ant-man is funny like iron man but it's a family film.

Your right bvs is better than all the shitty superhero films like elektra, amazing spiderman 2, fantastic four 2015, spirit.

It's still awful.

Just come back from imax screening. Boy where to start. Never have I loved and loathed a movie as much as this in recent years.

Good things first:

+ the first 35 min or so is probably the best of any comic book movie. Period. I so wish it could have carried on like that. Loved the political and philosophical themes. If it had carried on like that it would be nominated for Oscar. Not boring at all.

+ Ben Affleck is just the perfect Bruce Wayne. Born to play it. Batman though is a bit iffy as discussuong it here would be spoiler.

+ eisneberg really gave all he had. Outstanding acting but whether it is the character of Luthor he plays is up for debate.

+ The last 5min. Setting up justice league and cameos for future is just nerdgasm for DC fan.

+ some surprising stuff here that is genuinely new to the CBM genre. Also top cinematography.

Negatives:

- oh man does the final act turn to shit. Its like a free for all. If your thought of age of ultron climax was bad this matches it and then some. Just CGI and incoherent destruction.

- plot takes a nosedive for convulted reasons on batman v superman.

- one particular ending could have been done even better. More heroic.

This actually had a climax worse than avengers 2 imo. I never thought this would happen but whedon directed cgi mess action much better than snyder did. The doomsday scene was unintelligible at times

Snyder is damn good at making superman look frightening tho.

Still the best action scene of either movie by far is that man of Steel recap. One of my GOAT comic book movie scenes for sure

ArtHands

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
Yah. BvS definitely belongs to the Elektra/Daredevil tier of bad, probably worse. DC/WB has put out 3 shitty superhero movies in a row now (if you count Green lantern). Hopefully SS will be good. I feel confident for that movie

Dead

well not really...yet

"The world is introduced to The Superman"

like holy shit

Between this and MoS, Snyder has this knack for filling the movies with these individually really impressive scenes, that, let's be real, takes real talent to pull off and stage, but then the connective tissue isn't really there.

The best scenes in this movie or MoS pretty much shame the vast majority of super shit movies, in tone and execution its ridiculous, but then they are sandwhiched in a mess of badly edited flow and awkwardness.

Man I even loved that title before the scene.

It was like a cloverfield-esque take on all these generic superhero city destruction scenes. The dude effectively just put it in a whole new perspective and really made superhero disaster sequences scarier than they ever have been imo

And guys they made an evanescence trailer of the marvel daredevil show on YouTube. God level.

Man I even loved that title before the scene. It almost makes the whole film worth it, this scene.

What did you think of the montage with Superman saving people intercut with the news broadcasts

"does there need to be a Superman?"
"...well there is one"

That whole scene along with the opening is A+ imo
