My niece just pointed this out to me while I was playing. Btw, how do I make steam images embed smaller for future posts?

I accidentally meleed a little creature as I was dashing to get some gold. I'm a monster...
haha you would not have appreciated my stream yesterday.
So I just started the game on PC. It won't let me craft the carite sheets I need. Is this a glitch or am I missing something really obvious? I have 250 units of Iron.
Pressing square on an empty slot, to craft a Product?

Guys how do you 'unset' waypoints? I have four white spots on my HUD I no longer want to / need to visit. Scanning the buildings again does nothing.

I wish we had more control over the HUD and could 'dismiss' certain icons. Sometimes it gets crazy buzy, and distracts from the one icon you want.

Also, I have NO idea how to space battle. Get my ass handed to me every damn time.
Can't unset waypoints ATM - for dog fighting - your best bet is to get them to follow you to a planet - a lot easier to fight in gravity - 0g is nearly impossible sometimes

You can unset the ones you set, however I believe you have to be near the waypoint.
I noticed I can't clear them if I get too far from them .

I just tried going to a waypoint and L3 scanning it and it did go away. Not sure what the deal is :-/
Tips for that and more can be found here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost...postcount=5806

Try doing the same but be really far from it, does it clear?

edit: ahh ok, I just read below.

When I select an empty square, it doesn't show any items available to craft. I have crafted a few upgrades though.

Edit:
You have to go to an empty slot and press the "E" key.

Yeah, I tried that. Nothing shows up.

Edit 2:
Wait. My reading comprehension is bad. That worked. Thank you very much.

What happens when you die? What does your inventory look like? Do you lose everything you've picked up since that save point, or do you lose everything, even stuff you had when you saved?

Also, when does this game save exactly? I have encountered those machines on planets that save progress when you interact with them, but when are the other times? Landing your ship? Warping to a new star system?

Yeah you need to be AT the actual building/whatever it is. It may be the game can't remember what it is that the waypoint is marking while that thing hasn't been generated by the maths, dunno

How do you aim off-axis in space, anyway? I noticed the enemies do some 0G "fly one way, shoot another" tricks when I fight them. I'd love to do the same back at them.

I upgraded my ship to one with a fairly beefy beam. That sure made pirate attacks easier. Not entirely sure what my next plan is. Follow the purple line on the map until something neat happens, maybe?

I also found a planet where Sentinels are set to "Shoot first, ask questions never" That was fun. Although it is amusing on other planets to see one of those small drones fly over to where I did damage and first scan the damage, then scan me, then fly off not putting two and two together.

my second or 3rd warp (just got atlas pass) and found a planet with these laying on the ground... EVERYWHERE. Hostile Sentinels... but i just ran around... lol

I ran into a similar situation. I redeemed my pre-order ship before I learned how to create antimatter, and upon warping to my third system, I got a notification for the blueprint for it on a nearby planet. When I landed, I found myself on a moon with vortex cubes EVERYWHERE. Grabbing one immediately spawns a dog robot and 2 sentinels and gives you a 3 star wanted level, but once you kill them and before the wanted level wears off, you can freely grab as many as you want without spawning any more enemies.

The worst part is I haven't been able to find a single market terminal anywhere so far, so I'm stuck running past all these cubes that I'm unable to pick up.

I would lie if I said I didn't think to mysellf "Oh shit, the cops!" and whistled suspiciously while stealing a planet's ressources multiple times.

My mining Beam melts Sentinels like they're chocolate. So much so that I got rid of the Boltcaster and went full on Beam mode.

The game isn't fun for me because of Life support and Inventory version 1.0. They are way too limited and take all the fun out of the game when I have to keep filling up life support all the time and have absolutely 0 inventory space to collect goods and build stuff.

If they are going to be this limited early in the game, the upgrades to both shouldn't be a random find, but a guaranteed upgrade find X number of planets in....

Going to take a look at the tips posted, maybe it will help.

Well, upgrades to the amount of slots you have can be considered "guaranteed." You can actively track them down and spend as much time as you want upgrading just that, you'll keep the slots for the rest of the game. Max of 48.

Locate drop pods; if you have an AtlasPass there's another easy guaranteed source as well.

Seriously tell me they have more than 2 differen't "puzzles" for those scans? I keep getting the same 2 or 3 puzzles every single time. That just seems insanely lazy. It's basically the same solution over and over again.

This is interesting....I've gotten only dupes for a while now...going to see if there's a list of Blueprints

Do you get better/more Blueprints as you go deeper into the center?

Unfortunately not, they are extremely limited. I love the idea of light math puzzles as it fits perfectly with the whole theme of the game but there should be more variety. Maybe in a patch, who knows?

Man, aggressive Sentinel planets are super rough. Nice in resources and all, but you get shot just standing around. Like I'm in the wrong part of the galaxy or something.

Interactive NPC's, intricate puzzles, interesting and engaging gameplay, nor any kind of meaningful narrative/story apparently wasn't in the cards during development.

I can, however, shoot rocks with a laserbeam on 18 quintillion samey planets.

Found one of those famed planets covered in sweet, delicious vortex cubes. 25k a piece baby. Problem is everytime you grab one its a 3 star alert to sentinels. First time actually running across actual planet opposition.

EDIT Aaand dead. Man that second shield upgrade does not save your bacon as much as anticipated

I know this is sort of the reverse of what seems to be popular to complain about but I kind of don't like seeing places other people have discovered on the galaxy map, it makes the universe seem smaller to me for some reason. I like the thought of it being so large that I'll never see another player. Granted they all seemed to be many light years away and I don't even know if I'll ever have enough fuel to visit them but yeah.

I still like the game so far.

The alerts go away if you go into a building, etc so if they are really that abundant just grab a few at a time near an entrance and duck inside, rinse and repeat.
