By mere fact that MS wants to release a cheaper version and is not willing to take loss on series X and lower the price there , i would say sony will take more loss at launch
Or some part of Konami?
NOW you really back James! By the way, nice pic mate! Thanks! It's good to be back
Github was deleted too, it must be legit![]()
There was a spec leak that showed the PS5 using a certain model SSD from them. That's why it was addressed by them. There was also the rumour that MS were using the new SSD from them, and the fact they went out of their way to deny the Sony one, but not the MS one is interesting.
So PCB leak was old devkit with of the shelf parts (and does it even make sense, to use a Phison controller on it?) or it wasn't related to ps5, and people have been throwing the 316mm dye size calculation ... based on inaccurate information!?Just to add a bit more MS is using the SSD controller from Phison not the SSD itself.
The controller MS will probably use is that chip on PCB:

Sony is using it own custom chip so they will put it inside the APU ou ask some fab like TSMC to produce it to put on PCB.
PS5 devkit PCB specs from OQA
monolithic die ~22.4mm by ~14.1mm
16 Samsung K4ZAF325BM-HC18 in clamshell configuration
memory vrm seems like overkill with multiple Fairchild/ON Semiconductor FDMF3170 power stages controlled by an MP2888 from MPS
3 Samsung K4AAG085WB-MCRC, 2 of those close to the NAND acting as DRAM cache (unusual 2GB DRAM per 1 TB NAND)
4 NAND packages soldered to the PCB which are TH58LJT2T24BAEG from Toshiba
PS5016-E16 from Phison
I remember, i thought you were referring to RE8 (loosing the number 2 from the '28 days' title)... So it's actually the 8 that flies away and you're talking about DL2! And you're saying that MS bought the IP? Not the Techland?Funny thing is and I won’t quote anyone in particular I already posted this same thing a few days ago when I first heard about it. Now it’s just official. Thanks Phil. Also you’re absolutely right if an entire studio had been purchased you would have heard about it by now.
Well there it is! Github leak redeemed. That was what most predicted.
2x 5700 chip.
4 SEs instead of 2 or 2 SEs with 4 SA each?.
??????Ps3 was more expensive and late and less powerful .
ps4 was more powerful only through having more gpu not a better gpu .. every console generation xbox has had the better gpu capability ( if not raw performance). Its highly unlikely after playstations over hyper fp16 and hyperbole in every generation that they this gen for the first time they have a more modern functionally capable gpu. Original Xbox was better than ps2 design .. xbox 360 had integrated pixel and vertex shaders and render to texture and gpu compute.. xbox one had decompression hardware and better performance per cu than playstation .. xbox one x was better in every respect than ps4 pro ( more powerful per cu ANd more powerful overall).
Based on history there is zero chance that Cerny or Sony will deliver more advanced gpu than AMD/ Microsoft. I sure sony will deliver a good price for performance ratio though.
hmmmwhat does this mean?
I bet you would sing similar praises even for a raytraced turd simulator if it was Sony title.OH lawd thnks for this! That lighting looks Phenomenol and the aesthetics and combat look great.
Looks light I'll probably be buying tht![]()
Maybe a bit of both IP definitely used to be third party.
not a money hat if you own it.
imagine calling yourself THE playstation BRAH and releasing video leaks in 480p...
here for YT 1080p
and streamable (copy url and past in a new window for 1080p)
yep days gone is really good. not counting death stranding and bloodborne since they are third party sony exclusives, i'd rank days gone in the top five.
- gow
- horizon
- spiderman
- days gone
- the last guardian
definitely rank it above the two uncharteds, infamous, and ratchet. its an excellent game. no idea wtf the critics were smoking when they rated it that low.
we not allowed to be interested in a game now?I bet you would sing similar praises even for a raytraced turd simulator if it was Sony title.
I don't know... most leaks says Sony is using a custom SSD solution so it is probably not Phison controller if it is custom. So PCB leak was old devkit with of the shelf parts (and does it even make sense, to use a Phison controller on it?) or it wasn't related to ps5, and people have been throwing the 316mm dye size calculation ... based on inaccurate information!?
PCB reddit leak
Full gameplay trailer of Godfall has been leaked:
Quality is shit but there's another one that's at least 1080p just check last page it's way better.God-awful - Couldn't help myself, but in all seriousness, it's a big meh from me.

It's like people forget to mention the part saying it's from an internal trailer from early 2019 so of course it looks rough.God-awful - Couldn't help myself, but in all seriousness, it's a big meh from me.

LTT just did a video water cooling an SSD that has a Phison controller. Was getting 5GB/s writes.
Mark Cerny said the tech they're using is not available on PC. What's the consensus on what kind of SSD interface Sony is using? I don't think PCIe Gen.4 qualifies as "not available on PC"
That was what most predicted.

I'm not following the Killing thing?
Hello everyone, is there any news ? Thx.
Do you guys remember that insider that claimed Sony exclusives will come to Pc and everybody laughed at him, whats his user name ?

This is good. But it also uses the same graphic design I remeber from CRASH! magazine back in the 1980sTaken from Reee.

MS is definitely KILLING it, shit just got very real. It’s safe to say MS will have quite a few new titles for Xbox fans to sink their teeth into.
edited to add
It’s 5:07am
Or is it 7:07pm
Who calls some this early that excited about game acquisitions? Fucking seriously.
I understood what you said, my point is, if Phison confirmed they are not supplying Sony with their controllers like wrightiswright said (he didn't provide a link), then the PCB leak is inaccurate or it's not ps5 related. And that's where team Gonzalo got their ps5 316mm die calculations.I don't know... most leaks says Sony is using a custom SSD solution so it is probably not Phison controller if it is custom.
Xbox seems to using a Phison controller.
It is possible to include that custom SSD controller as a unit inside the APU but that is maybe hard to do... MS added a lot of DMA and Sound controllers in Xbox One APU.
So Sony can do the same or just use the custom chip on PCB like MS will do with his Phison SSD controller.
Sounds like Castlevania."Sink their teeth into"huh?
Yeap that leak seems fake.I understood what you said, my point is, if Phison confirmed they are not supplying Sony with their controllers like wrightiswright said (he didn't provide a link), then the PCB leak is inaccurate or it's not ps5 related. Yes, to end-users, but Gen.4 was announced in 2011 and officially ratified in 2017.PCIe Gen.4 was not available to the PC market until fall 2019
At the moment, Sony won’t cop to exact details about the SSD—who makes it, whether it utilizes the new PCIe 4.0 standard—but Cerny claims that it has a raw bandwidth higher than any SSD available for PCs.
it does take a while to get going and for some reason writing isnt as sharp in the first few hours. its like they go out of their way to make everyone unlikeable.I haven't gotten round to it yet but from what I hear it's a game that takes a good 10hrs to really take off, I wonder whether a lot of mainstream reviewers didn't have the attention span..
If that's standard IQ for next gen then I'll be very disappointed.

He has given thorough descriptions on videos of upcoming games that should be at the reveal.

amd has been putting a lot into chiplet research because being able to use multiple chips as if they were one chip is the best way to keep pushing power as we edge closer to the end of die shrinks.
its bizarre and annoying. if you've got something to say, say it. if you cant leak something because it will compromise your sources, keep silent. respect your audience, and their time. While I appreciateOsirisBlack 's posts, I am totally confused as to why he/she roleplays as The Riddler
Actually, chiplets have nothing to do with pushing more power as we reach the physical limitations of silicon.
It's an economic measure to keep the die size small, in order to increase yields on a wafer, thus keeping cost down, therefore allowing viable products to actually enter the market at a reasonable cost.
Look at the new 64-core Threadripper. That has 8 x 8-core chiplets. Imagine all those cores on a single monolithic die. If a single core fails upon testing, you'd end up wasting huge amounts of silicon wafer.

Mod of War what do you of OsirisBlack's riddles? shouldnt he just tell us what he knows. i mean he listed the entire description of the demo he supposedly saw, and yet he cant name the game to protect his sources? surely thats a load of bullshit. he's playing the thread and its getting annoying.
Best thing he could do is hand off his info to CBOAT. CBOAT spoke in riddles and garbled rubbish at times, but it got the point across much of the time, its bizarre and annoying. if you've got something to say, say it. if you cant leak something because it will compromise your sources, keep silent. respect your audience, and their time.

Lol, i should have known better being wrightiswr**g, it's the second time i fall for itIt is basically Phison repliying a email saying they did not received any order from Sony PS5 like a rumor article said in the past.
Google translated.
"The company has not received an order for Sony PS5. The media reports are market rumors. Investors are advised to refer to it carefully. For company news, please use the public information observation station announcements."
Yeah, why not? Node size has nothing to do with die size. The same 64-core threadripper at 7nm in a monolithic die would probably cost over $10k+ due to the amount of failures. Those failed chips could be binned and sold as 60-core, 58-core, 54-core processors etc., but they'd just end up being Intel in that case.sure, it makes things cheaper, but why wouldnt it allow for more powerful products? Could you even fit 8x8 on a single chip @7nm?
If the games are awesome exclusives, I'd be ok with that.Play showing the PS5 box with a few game demos here in Feb then a full reveal closer to E3?
