and it will be expensive
it sounds more like a 600 or 700 dollar console
for me its not true until proven otherwise
Mark Cerny said PS5 would be appealing in price despite it being a tech powerhouse.

oh damn, they went public in 2017? didn't know that.
so ok then, that makes absolutely zero sense then right?
how secret can you be about taking over a publicly traded company?
Sony came on stage and said they are not going to repeat the PS3 mistakes.
The PS3 mistakes were a 600$ console.
How do you get 18gigs man DAMNIT lol. Math doesn't add upXSX: 16GB GDDR6
PS5: 18GB GDDR6 + 4GB DDR4
SSD: 2.3GB/S x 5GB/s
These are genuinely my guesses. Also according to our own Osiris, PS5 devkit is insanely loud and PS5's RT solution is indeed better than XSX's.

Depends on the laws of the country and some other stuff. In this case it would be Filand.
Specs wise the gen war would be over before it even started (good on Sony if true and it is long overdue IMO).Bonus?
Just need to remind you things that i said before for the last time\
GPU: PS5>SeX ~10%
RayTracing Accelerators: PS5>X1 (PS5's RT works by using acceleration structures and algorithms much like nVidia's RTX cores)
CPU: Sex>PS5 ~ 6%
Memory: PS5>Sex for the size and bandwidth
SSD: PS5>Sex ~ Over twice as fast (this is the biggest and most noticable difference)
Fan noise (Dev-Kit): Sex>PS5 (not as egregious 1x vs. Pro).
BTW it's up to you believe me or not, but things gonna be clear very soon and you will find out who knows and who knows shit.
Bonus?
Remedy and Housemarque have been in Sony's WWS family for a while now!
Techland belongs to MS now!

like that's the nail in tje coffin for this guy's "leaks" then... fucking honestly, ban him from the thread at this point if he does say another word without getting verification.
I also saw that he had another oopsie with tech data that made zero sense apparently
Sony also in an interview said PS5 would be premium even at one point used the word niche. It won't be 600 but it'll be 500 and Sony will eat a loss.
he also said they have been with sony for a good while already...
So that mean Sony must have bought the majority of their stocks, weeks or even months back, and noone knows about it.
I would really be interested in someone from Finland who knows about the laws there
every country is different, but if the former ownership group retained more than 50% voting rights, sony and remedy board could have come to an agreement. If not, sony can make an offer to the board, and the board can present it to the shareholders for a vote at a later date. I am no expert, but that is my understanding.
either way, idk if remedy will do anything for sony. They have a bunch of story action adventure single player games already.
Damn, Tommy can't catch a break. He keeps on giving out info that can be easily proven as false lol.You understand Remedy is publicly traded company and can’t be owned “in secret”? If Sony bought them, we’d have known ages ago.
ultra fast (costum?) ssd; more powerful gpu than xbox which is already rumored to be around 12tf; more ram (so 18 gigs or more assuming xbox has 16) with higher bandwith; dedicated raytracing hardware
for around 399 - 499 ?
no way
Considering he is the only person in the world claiming the series x is a 747 I can't wait it should be fun launch day.I'll give you one thing. Your confidence is inspiring.
The fact that they used vague multipliers to begin with are a pretty big giveaway. 12TFs is actually FAAAAR beyond everyone's most realistic expectations, so there's no reason not to sing it from the rooftops if it was true.
MS just as easily can be not correcting folks, because they aren't ready to talk specific detailed hardware specs yet; which was obvious by them using ambiguous multipliers in the first place.
All insiders afaik, are referencing internal MS sources. So the easy explanation is that these insiders have been told the same 2x XB1X and 8x XB1S multipliers that MS themselves told us; and the insiders have "done the math" and in doing so assumed raw TFLOPs.
AFIAK, no developer or leaker referencing a developer source has come out yet to leak the exact 12 TFs firgure for XSX. And I wouldn't necessarily blame them, since even devs may be wondering over MS's multiplier PR statements about the potential for a suprise clockspeed increase to 12TF prior to final reveal (it happened last gen transition).
Sony also in an interview said PS5 would be premium even at one point used the word niche. It won't be 600 but it'll be 500 and Sony will eat a loss.
He's using greater than as better. I think he means XsX is more quiet than the PS5.Fan noise (Dev-Kit): Sex>PS5 (not as egregious 1x vs. Pro).
I don't believe you after you shared supposed PS5 specs with 32kb per cu as the L1 cache. That's GCN numbers. RDNA has L1 cache per shader array, not per CU.Just need to remind you things that i said before for the last time\

Yeah they can eat a loss and totaly should. The amount of money they get from active subscription and fees is insane. The more people have a Playstation the better (For Sony).
Who cares about losing 100$ on hardware per console if you make that back in no time with your 30% cut for games, PS plus prices, PS Now and all other digital fees.
But yeah 500$ is where my money is at too.
could he mean they’ve been with them for a while meaning housemarque? they have released a good amount of games on different playstation generations through the years.but he specifically said they have been with Sony for a while already. and noone noticed so far.
That's really hard to believe imo.
Just need to remind you things that i said before for the last time\

well he said both and said they have been with Sony for a while now...
the only way to interpret this is that they bought them.
and that's just very hard to believe or even completely impossible depending on how Finalnds laws are
Head over to b3d where people are showing concern over the rear intake and possible air flow issues.

For private companies, there is no general obligation to disclose any acquisition in public. In transactions involving a public company, the disclosure obligations are governed by the applicable securities market legislation and stock exchange rules, and depending on the circumstances, the disclosure may become required, e.g. when the Board of Directors of the acquirer has decided upon the transaction or the relevant transaction document is executed.
It will be interesting to see how powerful Nintendo go with the Switch Pro because the Switch is what, 3 times less powerful than XB1, 4 times less than PS4?. So if they go say XB1 level with the Pro, that would mean like 10% of the power of SeriesX and PS5, i cant see them being THAT far behind, even for Nintendo.Oh fuck, Nintendo, please save me from these solid state flop wars with your stupidly under powered but still some how massively upgraded Switch Pro...
A big box with plenty of room where you don't have to design each piece to fit like tetris pieces is probably cheaper than a smaller box where things are tailored to fit perfectly together. If the dev kit leak is any indication, that's all it could be. Head over to b3d where people are showing concern over the rear intake and possible air flow issues. "tower design"=/=automatically better.
Keep in mind those guys aren't idiots like most of us here. They actually know what they're talking about.
On such a small scale, 12" height, stack effect isn't a thing.

Public companies are under strictly regulated disclosure obligations. They are required to inform the investors and the market of certain circumstances that are significant for the company or its business by publishing stock exchange releases. The disclosure obligation includes two legs: the regular disclosure obligation; and the ongoing disclosure obligation. The regular disclosure obligation covers the regular financial reporting of the company and includes the periodic disclosure of financial statements and management reports, auditor’s reports, half-year reports and financial statement releases. The ongoing disclosure obligation in turn requires the company to disclose, without undue delay, any inside information that it possesses (as further specified in the Market Abuse Regulation).
The company may, however, delay the disclosure of inside information in circumstances where the immediate disclosure is likely to prejudice the legitimate interests of the issuer, the delay of disclosure is not likely to mislead the public, and the issuer is able to ensure the confidentiality of that information. Further, the Market Abuse Regulation obliges the company to maintain insider lists and to disclose transactions on the company’s shares by the persons discharging managerial responsibilities at the company and by persons closely associated with the former.

so this sounds to me like they would need to disclose it as soon as they actually buy them... right?

so prove it that it is false, give us real info?!Damn, Tommy can't catch a break. He keeps on giving out info that can be easily proven as false lol.
true, unless they have agreed but waiting to announce partnerships at the playstation event.well he said both and said they have been with Sony for a while now...

As per the devkit around half of both vents are blocked off.I'm going to say nope - intake ports are ~16 square inches. Top output is probably 5" diameter fan = ~20 square inch
Compare the size of a dual PCiE "slot" eg as used by a 2080Ti .. haven't got the exact figures but that's around 4" high and well under 2" wide .. so under 8 square inches ..
Series X is "at least double" that (now here have we heard something like that before)
Not sure what concerns they have on Beyond3D .. but maybe concern trolling ?
PS3 costed 499$.
Btw, in Oberon regression tests they also cut of ROPs to 32, as well as bandwidth to 218GB/s in GEN1 (and 176GB/s in GEN0 mode). It's not a perfect design, correct. But it's not an impractical design, either. And whatever design PS5 goes with, won't be a perfect design, either. All designs have at least a few flaws, the pressing issue is that they're only of minor nitpicks and not performance dealbreakers.
Speaking of PS5's devkit design, there's another reason you'd need such ventilation: to cool a GPU clocking 2GHz or higher. Which a 36CU chip would need in order to hit 9.2TF or higher (keep in mind there have been some other rumor spec leaks (nothing hard data though) showing 10.2TF on those same chips, which is also possible via turning on all 40 CUs and clocking them above 2GHz).
And seeing that, again, the Oberon and Ariel GPU testing are the only consistent hard data benchmarking figures that've been leaked for some months now, and have ties to PS-related products (clock speed settings matching PS4 and the Pro), then the leading idea is that the PS5 kit has that level of cooling specifically because of an overclocked Oberon GPU.
PS3 costed 499$.
SSD: PS5>Sex ~ Over twice as fast (this is the biggest and most noticable difference)
so in fact PS3 costed 499$ like i said.It was both $500 and $600 depending on which model you wanted... the $500 model lacked features.
As per the devkit around half of both vents are blocked off.

Gee, I wonder why it took you all this time to mention this? As opposed to weeks ago? (rhetorical question btw)
Everything else you mentioned have been speculated endlessly, particularily aquisitions of Housemarque & Remedy. This has been talked about to death over in the Reee Playstation first party thread.
These pseudo 'insiders' are just becoming boring at this point.
$599 at launch.PS3 costed 499$.
