Its definitely between them. I really hope Tekken is a boosted next gen title as the loading is off putting. Mortal Kombat had it beat in that area (I think they are using there own heavily modified UE 3 engine actually).

Oh yeah may well be, I think usability is important as well though given how many times you have to see a loading screen in a fighting game. Like if you look at MK's assets vs Tekkens you wouldn't think Tekken required extra loading.

MK's definitely more consumer and casual friendly and has the overall better engine between the two, but the gameplay in Tekken is top-notch and has had a bigger buzz in its tournament scene than MK, and is overall more respected as a game.

Call me a filthy casual but I love all the single player modes. Especially a story as then it feels like I know the characters more in the competitive modes, which makes the roster more exciting.
I just wish more fighting games had both 2vs2 AND 1vs1. When they release with just one mode I find myself wishing for the other as well.
2vs2 is great to force me out of my comfort zone and learn a second character. Jade I just dominate with in MK so hardly touched the new characters.
