I think you still don't get it.
Even real-time gameplay can be labelled as in-engine. So everything is actually in-engine. In-engine is the lowest denominator description, it can mean anything from pre-rendered cutscenes to real-time gameplay. But when they only say "in-engine" you can be sure in 99% of cases it means it's only pre-rendered.
This is how marketing works. You always describe your product in the best possible way. You don't say in-engine when you could say real-time. That would be stupid.
Again, in-engine is the new marketing word for pre-rendered.
We can be really sure that it's actual gameplay. when we see the HUD and a person controlling the character etc.
