I agree. I don't really get the GTA V comparisons. The only comparison you can really make is the fact you are driving around an open-world. Literally nothing else feels remotely similar to me. This game seems like it will be much more fleshed out and deeper than any GTA game. If you have played GTA, you will notice Rockstar doesn't really flesh out their world too much. They have some side stuff, but it is few and far between. Very lacking in places to explore inside as well. Cyberpunk just seems like Deus Ex on a larger scale which I love.

I always felt that way about Deus Ex too. It's open, but you only really have levels to explore with boundaries. The skill tree in this game gets me really excited. I love figuring out my own build. I think when I saw this way back I was sold:

Holy shit that skill tree is huge. Man I’ve been playing the past deus ex’s to get in the mood and I’m feeling like I made the right choice. This is like Deus Ex on steroids - or what I always wanted after the first game.

Didn't get the memo regarding the 14th Amendment
I've been waiting for this game for such a long time that it's hard to believe it's almost here.

As for the supposed length of the main story - I think 25-30 hours is a good length, personally. Side quests, as long as they are interesting and varied (which it seems like they are) can pad the length of the game beyond that. I believe CDPR said that they wanted the main story to be shorter than Witcher 3 because hardly anyone actually beat the story (and thus never played the expansions).

From every impression that I read from that dude that finished the game, I felt like he was trying so much to not enjoy the game, but the game was giving in a hard time in doing so lol

By the end, he said that it was good. So I imagine it being REALLY good.

Do we have any info about New Game Plus?

Also are cutscenes skippable?
I've posted this a few days ago, it's from an interview with the head of animation at CDPR

According to him, there will be a new game plus but I don't know if it will be available at launch.

I don't know about cutscenes.

22 years ago I sat down to play a game I had never heard of called Cyberpunk 2020. At that point D&D was all I knew of ttrpg games and I was absolutely hooked after just one game. My very first character I rolled was essentially a nomad so I can't wait to make my first character in this game a nomad too.

Who was this Dude, Where is this review ??? Thanks.

Side quests design I feel like is where CDPR is a league above the rest - honestly playing Witcher 3 I got confused a few times whether I was playing the main story or a side quest.

I have a feeling that the game is going to get alot of shitty reviews next to the really good ones that wil drag the metacrtitic score down alot. The expectations some people have is true the roof and people wil nitpick every little thing. Where in some games like the last of us they can overlook gameplay they prob wont be able to do it for this game. And then some reviews wil come out saying its way to violet or disrespectful or racist bla bla.

Definitely won’t be corpo - I have a long history of hating large corporations and don’t expect that to end anytime soon - I’ll be sticking it to the man.

et tu brute?

Jesus, first GaviotaGrande GaviotaGrande and now you @hariseldon . I refer you to my post to him, unbelievable.....:messenger_dizzy:

they did say the main story is apparently shorter than Witcher 3 - so it could be possible someone finished it quickly like that. Imma take my time tho - just still torn about which life path

Ignore @hariseldon Corpo is the way. You'll need to suit up and get yourself a forum avatar though if you want to truly represent 🤔

Yeah, he seemed to be looking for reasons to dismiss it and play to the CDP hate train they've got rolling there, but yeah he seemed quite taken with it at the end.

Looking forward to the professional reviews which should be landing Monday

That drama in the other forum, smh.

But on to more important matters, another 1070ti member checking in :b Will likely play corpo first time thru. Am trying to tamp my hype, bc the days & nights (thanks insomnia!) are crawling if I focus on my anticipation.

I think they've largely done away with cutscenes as everything is kind of ingame.

any word about pc performance, is it well optimized , 6 core CPUs gud enough for stable 6o fps with rtx 2060?

Specs are here. No idea about FPS, but if you run in 1080...maybe?

Have to wait until DF etc get their hands on it and do some benchmarking.

use 1080p 60hz ,and prefer locked fps with max details , and def want ray tracing enabled

It looks amazing. Already liking the look of the Intelligence tree. Hacking is always a nice thing to have in any game.

Without RTX, I'd say you'd be in with a good shout ...in the leaks thread the PS5 performance footage was rocking a pretty steady 60 FPS and that's before the day 1 patch, but I guess a lot depends on that RTX overhead, and how much more juice Nvidias drivers will deliver. Nvisia have ben working quite closely with CDP for the last year though so at the very least I would expect it to be playable.

Damn, couldn't they unlock the framerate for PS5?

Is that so hard? Why I gotta play locked 30fps?

Seems they have based on the leaks. Like the XSX the PS5 had a performance patch

I recommend downloading the mp4s versus the streams tbh. It's all early stuff so nothing spoilerly (plus it's in French).

Oh definitely. I think that's why concerns about the story length are mostly unwarranted. A long game does not always make a great game. Pacing matters. I think Cyberpunk will feel great in that regard.

Ohh thank you Jesus.

Awesome. Like, I get the next gen patch is next year. With x y and z.

But I kept hearing "PS4 BC version" and got scared. Glad its 60fps. Whew.

When I look at the Xbox store, the only version available is the Xbox One version. No mention of X|S optimized anywhere. Decided to say fuck it and pre-ordered/pre-load the Xbox One version knowing I could just upgrade and I can confirm it’s the last gen version.

Am I missing something here?

I agree with that. When I played The Witcher 3 I was overwhelmed with things to do and see. I couldn't tell what was the main questline. If I had been more in to the game and the genre, I would have loved the hell out of that. If Cyberpunk is anything like how Witcher did, I'm all set. I want to get lost and immersed in a sea of quests to do.

Yes, you are missing the fact that the game launches on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on the 10th.

PS5 and XSX/S will get their version (the so called "next gen patch") in 2021 with a free upgrade for owners of the PS4/XO versions.

Next gen owners get only small improvements at Day1, however they're fundamentally still playing the PS4 and XO version of the game.

A recent example is The Last of Us 2. It was way longer than it should have been. It literally felt like the game was going to end several times, only to keep going, and going. Pacing was way off.

I think that is where open world games are better though. Easier to put it down, and return to it. You can pick at what you want to do.

I could be wrong but I think that too much is being made of "the next gen patch"

Just speculating but I'm guessing the reason why it's taking so long is that they need to spend some time figuring out exactly how to best adapt raytracing to RDNA 2 based systems. Because on the PC, you need to have an Nvidia GPU if you want raytracing. Even if you have a shinny new 6800XT, there won't be any raytracing for you at launch.

Once they do figure that out, the PS5/XSX will get an update. And possibly at that time a higher res texture pack too. There will be an update enabling raytracing on AMD GPU's at the same time.

It looks like at launch they will already have Performance/Quality more options for XSX and PS5 so that's a big part of "the next gen patch" right there.

Thanks! I’ve honestly been ignoring all news just to make absolutely sure I get no spoilers so I missed that. Oops lol

The game is most likely running at low to medium settings on OneX/Pro. Next gen consoles can deliver the full ultra spec (without RT) at 1440p if we go by the recommended sys reqs. So, there better be more improvements than just "better quality textures". It would be disappointing if that were the case.

I actually expect them to give us choices here. Graphics mode, Performance mode and an RT mode.

Well they make Witcher 3 run decently on Switch, so I think it will run well on base consoles eventually, just maybe not on day one....

If you're planning on buying this on the One S or base PS4 I strongly advise you not to, that shit looks ROUGH!

I will also agree with this...

Honestly the PS5/XSX footage looks quite nice. Mostly 60fps and very very playable. You will enjoy playing on next gen consoles.

But on a BASE PS4 or an Xbox One S...... ehhhh....

The performance on The Xbox One S was ROUGH. And there are people with the base PS4 version complaining about exactly the same.

Resolution low, framerate low, and the worst part was the world streaming/pop-in. You drive quickly somewhere and hop out of your car to see that everything is still waiting to switch from a low LOD to a higher one, with details popping into existence constantly and right in front of you.

Probably the lack of SSD is the biggest problem.

The day one patch could improve things, but honestly, it would have to improve things A LOT before base console performance even gets to "good enough" IMO. Or MAYBE if you just installed the game on an SSD that would get things to "good enough" levels. I can believe lacking an SSD is the majority of the problem.

Interesting to note that CDPR isn't sending out review copies to many outlets; and I think this has to do with how the extreme-left gaming media will deal with their absolutely classic refusal to cave to the outrage mobs. I can only imagine the revenge the gaming media is plotting for CDPR not allowing you to have a penis on top of a vagina or have your character be called "Gender Queer" by the NPC's. This will be interesting.

I'm personally all in day 1, %100 just to show my support. Plus, the game looks fantastic.

This game will be huge on PC. I may go with PS5, 60 FPS mode if HDR is done well. Hopefully I won’t get too far by the next gen patch.

I would certainly play it on a base console if options were limited, the game seems good enough to look past performance issues. I’d be curious to know what the platform ratio ends up being.

I was actually thinking of The Last of Us Part 2 as well (as an example of a game that's too long) lol

Last of Us was the perfect length, but then Naughty Dog for some reason decided to make it 30+ hours... and considering the depravity of that universe, that's hard to play through for that long without it feeling overbearing. You really feel its length.

Unfortunately some folk can’t really afford getting a better rig or they have other priorities. You have to take that into consideration too. Or maybe they don’t want to get spoiled.
I personally think they should just play the game, you can still enjoy a top quality product on those consoles. With a free next gen update it’s not a bad idea honestly.

“Small improvements”? 60FPS is more than a small improvement, if you ask me. I’d take that over higher graphical settings or a higher resolution any day.

My expectations all along were simple. Let me sit on a stool in Night City. Something as simple as sitting on a stool can do so much for immersion. Disappointed to see this feature isn't in the game, makes me wonder what cdpr has been doing all these years.
Lol either you’re that douchebag from Era who made that post, or you’re actually disappointed in this (equally embarrassing) or you’re shitting on those lame impressions and this is comedy gold. I really hope it’s the latter
