I could be wrong, but this falls under the category of spoilers, no?

Perhaps repost this onto the spoiler thread if so?
I agree. While I personally don't care that much about achievements (and have all notifications for them on all platforms turned off), I know that they can spoil some elements / plot points of the game.

I think i have to drastically dial back my expectations for this game.. I'm sure it's gonna be great, but I've been expecting a game in which i basically live my life path minute by minute, navigate a perfect sandbox.. maybe even start a dynasty or whatever.. like, seriously wide thoughts.. I'm sure it's going to be much heavier on the narrative etc.. I'm sure they'll be great, but I really gotta tone down my expectations of just doing what i want...

Well, maybe not exactly, in Witcher 3 you could do whatever you wanted around a very detailed world, if you so desired.. but i kind of had a vision of super emergent content for this game and, yeah, i don't think that's what I'll be getting.

Like I've said: I'm sure as sure it'll still be awesome.

all along my expectations have been: if it's half as good as Witcher 3 i'll be over the fucking moon.

i've only watched the original teaser, e3 trailer, the 48 minute gameplay video, and like 2 Night City Wires. I've read about half of "The World of Cyberpunk". I haven't gone looking for a lot of information on it cause basically it's CDPR and i loved the fuck out of Witcher 3.

some people have seriously unrealistic expectations of the game and at times it feels like they forget IT'S JUST A GAME and not a life changing experience. it'll likely be a damn good game but if it sucks then it's not gonna be the end of the world.

My expectations all along were simple. Let me sit on a stool in Night City. Something as simple as sitting on a stool can do so much for immersion. Disappointed to see this feature isn't in the game, makes me wonder what cdpr has been doing all these years.

I think you fuckers are expecting to live in this game too hear ye, it's a single player narrative driven RPG, not Skyrim on steroids ffs, sure the world is fucking insane looking but from what I can tell it's mainly backdrop with very few interactive bits and the pedestrian and vehicular density is fucking woefully sub par for how I would imagine a future city to be like and what I would expect for a game like this at the tail end d of 2021..

I hope by the time I buy the next gen version they've improved those images somewhat

CDPR should put mask on every NPC and call it an after-pandemic low density world

It's just a better Deus Ex, at least I hope, and I never expected it to be anything else. Some people hyped up this game so much at this point, they certainly can only be disappointed that it isn't gonna revolutionize gaming.

Lmao take a look at this well thought out, in depth article that's definitely not colored or biased because the writer doesn't believe anything CDPR says anyway.

It sucks that Cyberpunk 2077’s edgelord marketing worked so well

My skepticism started when the game revealed its controversial “Mix It Up” promotional poster back in June 2019. This poster featured a feminine model with what can only be described as a huge, bulging penis. Her skin-tight leotard left nothing to the imagination; even the veins were visible. At the time, some fans called out the imagery as exploitative, mocking, and transphobic, though CDPR defended the poster. “I like how this person looks,” said Kasia Redesiuk, the artist who designed the poster, at the time. “However, this model is used — their beautiful body is used — for corporate reasons. They are displayed there just as a thing, and that’s the terrible part of it.”

I don’t buy it.

the writer literally just wrote 2 articles for polygon. one bashing the harry potter game for jk rowling. and this for cyberpunk. that tells you a lot. a person whose job is literally canceling other people

Indeed. It's about that stool action for me as well. I can't get enough of it. I might have to work up a sweat to some Ikea pages in a bit knowing what I know now :(

The stool sitting kind of thing will be in DLC, no doubt.

It's not enough, forget the PS5 and XSX next Gen patches. CDP need to get the team onto that stool action ASAP. I want customisation on colour, texture, adjustable height, the whole shebang. If there's a stool in the game, I want my virtual ass to be able to sit on it.

Happens. And I know a lot of cool folks who have it. So I think it's covered for sure!

Yeah, but you're dependable. You look at games the same way a lot of us do here in terms of what works, what doesn't and navigate accordingly to arrive at a conclusion.

i won't bash that stool guy. i just think he wanted more a bethesda game than a cdpr game. sure in bethesda games you can sit on things or pick up a bucket from the floor. but the writing and quests are lacking. the dialog is awful. they spend their budget in making those little things possible. sure you can enter every building in a city. but whiterun is like... 8 houses in total. so of course you can kind of have a conversation with every npc. because there are 10 in total in a city.

i love skyrim but one is a sandbox and the other is a narrative driven rpg. for a cdpr game i want a great main story and amazing side quests. everything else is just a plus. for a rockstar or bethesda game if it doesn't have those little things well you basically have no game because that IS the game.

I'm curious what sacrifices will have to be made to get this running @ 60fps on either new console. The deep dive comparisons hopefully on review day will be interesting.

I've just noticed that my preorder for the Collectors Edition is actually still up and was never cancelled. Pretty excited for that yet it's on Xbox... ugh

I think for once i'm going to buy this game twice hahaha. No way i can't avoid my RTX 3080! Maybe i'll just give it to my sister haha.

These fuckers will never be happy. Imagine being so vapid, so triggered by a piece of art lifted from the background of a trailer for a videogame that you have to write this sort of nonsense.

Imagine having something like your sexuality be a warped prism through which you view, and can then comment on, literally everything.

Does anyone have any idea when the proper next-gen (really current gen) version will release? I know they'll be giving a free update when it's available, but I'd really rather just wait for the PS5 version. I ended up cancelling my Yakuza: Like a Dragon pre-order for the same reason. Not like I'm hurting for games to play right now. Then again I don't want it to be spoiled for me. If I play it now though, I can't imagine going back and playing again because there's some update that makes it run better a year later.

As far as the recent release footage goes, it's looking like

PC > Stadia > Series X > One X > PS5 > PS4 Pro > PS4 > One S.

XSX - 1440p
X1X - 1512p

PS5 - 1260p
PS4 Pro - 1080p

Where are you getting this info? 1260p seems like such a bizarre resolution considering the PS5/XSX absolutely demolishes X1X hardware. I understand no patch

Do we have an inkling of when the next gen patches might come out? If it's after the 2nd half of 2021 I might just play it now and then replay it with the patch. But if it's released during the 1st half then I'll just wait for it to patched.

Nobody knows for sure as CDPR has only stated "sometime next year". Most are assuming around the middle of next year, and I wouldn't expect anything before March.

Nope. This game will sell millions upon millions of copies, and no amount of them whining about it is going to change its going to be a hit and be a big part of gaming "pop" culture for at least awhile. They will piggy back, say why its all "problematic" and yada yada, wont matter. CDProjektRed will sit back and count their money. (So long as the game as itself, doesn't suck....and it doesn't look like it).

Pixel counted the 4K videos from YT.

I checked the PS5 footage a few times and I got results between 1220p and 1280p, so it's around there. Strange choice of res but yeah no patch so we'll see.

X1X and XSX looks really clean on those 4K vids. Would be nice if PS5 can at least match.

What is all this stool bullshit?

Seriously? Time to stool is the metronome by which all games of quality are now measured. The days of Time to Crate are yesterday's news. If you can't perch on a virtual stool in a virtual environment, it might as well not exist. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
