This guy simply can’t help himself.I have both. PS5 has truly felt next-gen with games that take advantage of the DualSense and SSD, like Demon's Souls, Astro's and Returnal. Xbox Series X just feels like an Xbox One Pro-2.

I agree with the points you have made.PS5 is doing better in the exclusive games department. While I haven't really been impressed with any so far, at least they're trying. There's new content there at least, which is more than I can say for the Series.
The XBX is doing better pretty much everywhere else though. Gamepass is better than anything the PS5 has comparatively. The UI is better than the PS5. Performance is superior to the PS5 almost across the board at this point, and that gap will likely continue to grow.
Both systems have their benefits and drawbacks. While it could go either way, I think the XB Series has a higher upside. The PS5 dualsense didn't impress me, and so many broken triggers doesn't bode well going forward. The PS5's storage solution has been disappointing as well. Sony can correct any of these issues in the future, but at this point there's no indication of it. On the other side, MS has only the single issue of games to correct, and there's ample evidence to suggest that they're working on it.
I think E3 will tell us a lot. If it gives us a clear and positive indication of games coming to the XB Series consoles, then I'd say they're clearly better option going forward. If it's vague, and doesn't show much content coming, then I'd say the PS5 has the potential to be the better option.
Truly a baffling perspective. Being content playing nothing but old games at higher frame rates just... idk. As someone that has been buying next gen consoles day one since the ps3 i can’t imagine paying money for something that’s like a ps3-2x I can’t imagine my haul as a kid with a brand new console being a bunch of discount old games I could have already played years ago, but now they run slightly better? When I got an Xbox one I got rise and my jaw was on the ground over what was possible with the new hardware. I don’t think playing halo 3 at 60fps would have had the same effect.I now have both, most of my gaming is 120fps multiplayer with Gears 5 and Warzone which is a game changer for online play. Obviously VRR is a massive bonus when Devs have struggled with optimization, no screen tearing or stuttering at all.
So happy with my first six months and by the end of the year first party games will be the last piece of the jigsaw.
Having day one expandable storage for next gen games has let me move my games easily between Series X and S which has been very convenient and FPS Boost has given a whole new lease of life to games that struggled last gen, stuff like Mad Max at 120fps and Far Cry 4, Primal and 5 running at 60fps are superb. Amazed they have nearly a 100 games with FPS Boost on top of a raft of Series upgraded games in such a short period.

This generation is more about UX over graphics because of diminishing returns. Raytracing and higher fidelity is great, but the consoles aren't strong enough and lack DLSS-like features/hardware to make up the difference. That's where services, SSD speeds, DualSense haptics, Quick Resume, FPS Boost, Streaming, etc all come in to play to feel next-gen. Yes, Sony is delivering better on the exclusive front, but without considering games the other aspects of what goes in to a console experience is leaps and bounds ahead of last gen (for both). IMO it deserves the hype because last gen is beyond archaic. It's really worth upgrading to either Series S/X or PS5 for the quality of life alone.Hyping quality of life features over actual games is weid in my opinion... ask anyone about series X and they start talking about the service instead of the games...I have both and once I finished gears I stopped playing it... I know eventually the games will come but Sony are delivering right now... I don't really know what Microsoft were thinking by releasing a console with no next gen games... not even a tech demo like astrobot...ps5 isn't perfect but it does feel alot more next gen the lack of changes to the xbox UI and controller just make it feel like more of the same....

Xbox One was a must to have in first 6 months... it included even Titanfall... after Phil it stopped to receive games with frequency.6 months later, the PS5 is a must-have. The Xbox Series are an option, which is more than what the Xbox One was at launch, so that's an improvement. But the real next-gen jump is only on the PS5 at the moment with the new experiences. Let's wait and see if the X can catch and keep the pace with it in the following years.
IGN? You mean the new xbox press office?
Cheers. I just want to avoid getting myself banned lol. I only have a PS5 but every platform has something good to offer.Console warring.

I agree that lately this has been heating up a lot.
A must-have because of Titanfall? Millions of people didn't think so.Xbox One was a must to have in first 6 months... it included even Titanfall... after Phil it stopped to receive games with frequency.
The descent towards competing with N4G for the worst community is nearly complete..
Keep up the good work.
@ the mods. The politics forum is now gone, you lot should have more time now to police the gaming forum a bit more. This thread is a disgrace, but something that is becoming more and more common unfortunately

Hopefully, Rachet + clank might scratch that ich for you.The only next gen we really got is duelsense from Sony and Quick Resume from Microsoft. No new game so far has made me feel like it's next gen because they all can be done last gen. The whole Next gen feel is getting smaller and smaller with each new generation.
I'm happy with both, but I need more exclusives games.
Very silly posts, we all need to try to voice our opinions in a respectful manner. Please can someone kindly explain to me why some people have been banned in this thread today?
It was not just Titanfall (Xbox One had several exclusives with 85+ meta at launch) and millions of people brought Titanfall and even made sell 311k in a NPD month outside holiday.A must-have because of Titanfall? Millions of people didn't think so.
Utter non sense kind of tired of hearing about “diminishing returns.” People are creaming themselves over the graphics in ratchet, and playing through demons souls was a legitimately crazy feeling seeing all the detail. This generation is more about UX over graphics because of diminishing returns. Glad someone said it. Don mattock (was that his name?) may have been a bit of a moron in some ways but the launch day line up and launch window line up blow the current one out of the water. And frankly the first couple years of the Xbox one, as an non racing fan, was far, far more exciting and varied than it was after phil took over. Sunset overdrive, killer instinct, rise, and titanfall were the most fun I had on the Xbox one.Xbox One was a must to have in first 6 months... it included even Titanfall... after Phil it stopped to receive games with frequency.
For sure. To be honest I shouldn’t have compiled those responses with a dig, but I’m pretty fed up of some of the posts on here and I’m glad the mods have taken action today.Very silly posts, we all need to try to voice our opinions in a respectful manner.
Ratchet looks amazing and so does Demon's Souls (I've played it, I get it). I just don't think you're gonna see a significant improvement in visual quality beyond Ratchet 6 years from now unless some magical DLSS solution comes out on AMD's hardware, and even then it doesn't have the same tensor cores and RT cores like NVidia cards. It's just not the same generational leap that the PS1 to PS2 offered or PS2 to PS3 offered compared to games at the end of the 8th gen (like RDR2).Utter non sense kind of tired of hearing about “diminishing returns.” People are creaming themselves over the graphics in ratchet, and playing through demons souls was a legitimately crazy feeling seeing all the detail.
People said the same thing last gen. Then compare rdr2 to gtav on the ps3. As for games not improving at time goes on that’s such an odd perspective to have. You don’t think Spider-Man 2 will look leaps better than ratchet rift apart? What about when all these cross gen games actually optimize their games for the new consoles? You can’t unironically think ratchet is the peak of the ps5?Ratchet looks amazing and so does Demon's Souls (I've played it, I get it). Some guys this start of the gen tried to create a revisionist story about Xbox One... the line up was great and the releases where constant in the first year.Glad someone said it. I don't think Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is going to look leaps better than Rift Apart because it'll probably come out next year or so. I expect it to look like an upgraded Miles Morales, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if it is more than that.People said the same thing last gen. Then compare rdr2 to gtav on the ps3. I have no doubt we'll get great visuals this gen, I just think the software and service side of the console user experience - and the hardware inside that facilitates it - is what makes this generation "next-gen" and not the extra graphical capabilities.
I disagree with the software aspect. Nintendo is basically dominating right now with the worst ui, online, and overall feature set. It’s about games and hardware.I don't think Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is going to look leaps better than Rift Apart because it'll probably come out next year or so. It's great that PS5 and Xbox have the internals to provide it (faster loading, snappier more fluid UI, haptics etc).
Even than shadowfall is a total standout as far as early games go. Games released even years later didn’t look as good. That’s more GGs technical ability.Compare TLOU2 with Killzone: Shadownfall.
You will see similar difference between what you have now and what it will release late in the gen.
You sound like a nice personA buffet where on the menu is piss and shit and AIDs
TBH Killzone: Shadowfall was extremely impressive and still holds up today. I wouldn't even consider Horizon Zero Dawn to look that much better (more impressive bc the designs of the robots are cooler, for sure), but linear vs open world and all that. Base PS4 difference between UC4 and TLOU2 don't seem that big a deal (I played on Pro and it looked fantastic, so I can't really compare my own experience). I'm sure some new technologies will be developed like how checkerboarding and TAA became more prevalent to let visual fidelity increase, I still just don't expect anything groundbreaking over Rift Apart 6 years from now. Again, pleasantly surprised if so.Compare TLOU2 with Killzone: Shadownfall.

Was Ratchet planned to go on PS4? I wasn't aware of that. I would guess Spider-Man 2 will be PS5 exclusive and I bet they can improve it a little bit over MM, but not sure over Ratchet. Different art styles though.Might be dumb for me to say this but Ratchet got a big jump when it dumped the PS4. If Spiderman 2 doesn't have to worry about that hardware maybe they can improve the visuals even further.
Nintendo's in their own world doing their own thing and the Switch isn't really next gen. For them it's definitely about the games, but they are so popular often because of the user experience facilitated by the hardware (joycons, wii motion, casual accessibility, portable + dockable). Plus this is off topic anyway.I disagree with the software aspect. Nintendo is basically dominating right now with the worst ui, online, and overall feature set. It’s about games and hardware.
Miles morales had a ps4 port that visually didn’t look completely different than the ps5 version. I look forward to seeing you in the announcement thread for Spider-Man 2.
It had decent sales, but none of what it offered made it the console you HAD TO have. PS4 on the other hand was more powerful, better UI, and it became the best option for multiplatform games. The Series X is not a must-have, fans were touting it (before launch) that it was going to be the best console to play multiplats. Well, it isn't. The difference is so minuscule it's irrelevant. It could be called the best console to play OLD games though, that's good I guess, but not enough. It was not just Titanfall (Xbox One had several exclusives with 85+ meta at launch) and millions of people brought Titanfall and even made sell 311k in a NPD month outside holiday.
Did you know PS Now is not even available in most countries? So funny seeing people going on about gamepass none stop like Xbox is some sort of never seen before pro-gamer brand. Specially, when funnily enough, PS Now is actually a better offer (way more games and better ones at that). Xbox had to open its asshole when it sold gamepass for $1 dollar a month like a desperate street corner hooker in order to get people to even look in their direction and soon it’ll fall into a financial cluster fuck when it’s business model becomes unsustainable.
Yeah... I'm suprised half of what people have said on here has gotten away with it. I know people have their preferences... But do we really need comments like xtrash, AIDs, don't insult sh*t-xbox is worse. Some real winners posting in this thread
But the GamePass threads were what really needed moderating, not the 12 year old PS trolls, right…

Im not seeing any xbox gamer trash the other side like Sony fans are here.
