Uhm… the actress.. is extremely easy on the eyes, and seems super cool. Makes me want to download the demo. It’s just that the in game model and play mechanics seems down right horrible. Hopefully this doesn’t tank her career.

I’m not at all surprised by the reactions I’ve been seeing. I had hope, but this is the Final Fantasy XV team. Of course the movement is going to feel heavy and horrible and the combat is going to feel clunky and janky.

Seems to run pretty well.

It's at least 40fps in the ray tracing and quality modes, if not higher.

Don't know that'd I'd be interested in playing an entire game like the demo, but Square has never really made games I like.

Playing the demo a bit more and I'm at least sold on the combat. Definitely a LOT of shit going on, and they clearly are leaning heavy on the combat to sell the game. Playing it does feel like FF15 as mentioned before, but a lot faster. . .by quite a bit. Definitely turn on "Toggle" for the Magic menus as it basically slows everything down to a crawl (just like in HFW) and feels a lot less frantic. Which the combat is. In spades.

HDR is for sure busted on this. Turning it off in system settings makes the sun not blinding and anything in shadows actually visible. Also, anyone moaning about this being a "last generation game" - please. Show the PS4/XB1 games that are able to handle the particle and effects work going on in this game while maintaining a rather decent framerate (not sure where these "stutter" comments are coming from).

It's a slice of open world, the lack of a proper intro to the story etc. hurts the demo more than anything.

Can't help for the other things but you can lower down the frequency of the banter in the options.

I'm about to try the demo for the first time after i finish this post, wish me good fuck (to remain in the swearing mood)

Good idea to release a demo, seems more like a beta test to me do they can adjust recording to peoples opinion on it. I am not really interested in the game but I hope they can fix the problems for people who wanna play it.

Just an heads up, to change style of magic you don't need to press r1+l1 etc, you can just sweep left or right in the touchpad and it change in an instant.

The game of course never tells you this, so you can avoid the menu and have always 4 abilities ready to run (or more if later the game unlock slots or some shit)

As bad in frequency but Aloy is more innocuous. This one tries to have some humour which is actually ok compared to the sterility of Horizon Zero/Forbidden Humour.

It's more that they just immediately put you into the game with a TON of combat options, which makes sense for a demo, but might not be the best for an introduction. There is clearly a lot going on in this, combat wise; it honestly reminds me of a more free combat system from FFXV, which was actually pretty fun (and just as complex in its demo).



This was something I didn't understand. I THINK Frey can run, but she can also "Magic Parkour" and there's no cost to do this and it looks badass so. . .why would you ever just run anywhere? There's also a video of the developer being surprised by how fast the game loads.

I did change to performance mode and feels better (controls still bad) . But using a 65 inch tv , everything looks blurry upscale… like when I play doom on Nintendo switch lol. Is a pass for me

I watched that field boss battle and the combat looked weird. She performs a move and quickly goes back to a neutral state. Not in a normal way. The stuff she was saying felt off. It’s like the actress isn’t feeling it or has no idea how to make her remarks believable.

Yep, after getting the hang of the combat system the game is a pure joy to play and EXACTLY what i was expecting from the trailers, it absolutely feels like a more fast paced magic infamous with a sprinkle of...very light dmc maybe? (mostly for the stylish scoring system)

The cons for now are a very shitty graphic even in quality mode (that runs incredibly well if you turn on the 120hz option), very shitty enemy design, and maybe it feels too easy even on hard but you have already like 12 skill and you can upgrade them and these feels like cannon fodder enemies, not serious ones, but i still have to fight the hardest enemies in the demo so maybe there is hope, also the world is really barren.


Traversal feels like neon run from inf3 mixed with parkour from prototype\ac games but faster and maybe a bit less precise, but i need to get the hang of it.

The variety in combat is all there, many skills seems to change if you do them during a run or an evade move or a jump, like from a still position there is this rapid barrage of fire punches that ends with a close range fire explosion, but if you lock on to an enemy and circle around him while magic dodging she does like 2 punches and evade, 2 punches and evade (like a ballet) until the final explosion to adapt the skill to your movements, pretty neat, they clearly put a lot of time on the various skills.

If you put the dialogue to low in the option she barely speak and the bracelet only act like a mimir telling you when to evade or when you are low health, you can also turn it completely off.

I'm only paying like 50 euros for it and it seems like a good price even just for the combat and traversal, i can live with shitty graphic, barren world and probably meh story if the core gameplay is fun.

Have to keep in mind it is a demo so it may be refined for launch.
