Yeah he said that stuff literally 2 months before the PS3 Slim launch but the 360 that sub 300 Arcade version. The 360/PS3 were pretty close in price/features(HDD size etc) aside from that basically splitting hairs and perception.It was losing momentum because of pricing vs the 360, iirc

From January 2018, talking about the Xbox One X being the lead platform for the game. Saying in the year previous (2017) they’d hired 200 new members of staff for their new Lemington Spa studio. This was the studio head. Not some pleb.
Everyone knew it was Fable, even the Daily Star.
So yeah, when they’ve spoken about expecting it to release on Xbox One X (and the OG Xbox One) it’s fair to say people expected something sooner.
Considering the game still seems to be a minimum of 2 years away, it’s a long dev time.

Sony has a deal blocking gamepass from offering COD. Why would they make this deal if they didn't think it would happen? If the acquisition goes through, they still have to honor that block until it expires before they can put it on gamepass which they've said will happen.
I said MS weren't planning on any exclusive content. I never said they wouldn't have COD on gamepass.

GamePass is a dystopian subscription future where you don’t play games anymore you play a smear of indies and sequels for 5 minutes at time. Delaying this future protects the PlayStation and Nintendo games we enjoy.

It is true but the example of how MS/XB handled Bethesda was called out by the CMA. It revealed how MS has not necessarily lied but over-stated their position to not hold games from competitors. Don’t get me wrong, MS has every right to do that but they also have to deal with regulators that see a pattern of XB keeping games from other platforms. Nobody, including the CMA , are dumb enough to think that Starfield would not be on Sony’s platform if MS had not made the purchase.

All marketing deals have standard contracts. It's a similar marketing deal with RE8 that was leaked. People said Sony blocked RE8 from appearing on game Pass. You have to prove that Activision INTENDED or WOULD have put Call of Duty on Game Pass. This means if there was no marketing deal, then Activision would have put Call of Duty on Game Pass.

These are the EU's exact words when approving that merger:
They cleared the merger without requiring any incentive or guarantees from MS, and I have posted direct statements from MS's merger documents stating that decision to make future games on other platforms will be on a case by case basis.
MS did not lie about Starfield or Redfall no matter how many times you try to make others believe it.

It's part of the standard marketing rights contract.
Microsoft had marketing rights to Cyberpunk and they had a limited edition console. Do you think they were going to allow Sony to make a limited edition console? Based on your logic, they blocked Sony from doing it. They also blocked Sony from having the game appear on PS+ during its release date.
It's basically this: We have marketing rights, and we don't want anyone else to market the game better than us. We're paying for those rights. It's a contract that covers all bases. This is in no way shape or form PROVES it was blocked from Game Pass. You have to prove they had intentions of putting it on Game Pass.

They did a pitch in 2017, and started recruiting for the game in 2018. Scoping the game with the highest end Xbox console (at the time) in mind doesn’t translate to active development.
At this point, there’s no indication that the game is “minimum of 2 years away”.

Again, MS has been pretty clear about the communication on the exclusivity status of Redfall and Starfield for a while, since before EU/FTC approved that merger.
EU ruling stated that that MS making games exclusive would be viable if they can profit from it, which I think we all assume MS intend to.
Secondly, MS's communication on future games has been pretty clear from 2020, all of this is information EU had access to and as I mentioned above, the possibility of exclusive Zenimax games was in the docket during their review as well, no hoodwinking involved.
