Deep down you know why.
Those are the results of a demo, we have to be careful and wait for the final game to make assessments.
That being said, the launch is very close and there are many aspects that need to be fixed in each version. In XSX the issue of control and deadzone is essential. On PS5, the IQ (either by type of reconstruction or by the difference in resolution) and absent RT reflections could explain a certain advantage in framerate...
It is very curious because in all the games with REengine in XSX vs PS5 these differences did not occur except perhaps the slight advantage of XSX in framerate ,the demo and the final game were 1:1

I mean let's be honest, raytracing is demanding as fuck...if one version isn't even displaying reflections etc in puddles and displaying less raytracing, not having to calculate bounces or reflections...I would expect that version to have a considerable performance advantage....
Also....imagine if this is all fixed for launch...and they are more or less identical...we would all hope.
They need to fix the ps5 vaseline filter and sort the xbox dead zone.

thats ok but its weird that whenever alex comes in to talk about comparisons of ps5 vs xbox he always somehow doctors his videos just to say the series x is a better version with no clear comparisons like when he claimed series x had a better performing gpu because of control photomode and hitman 3 and ever since then everything he says is in favour of series x despite other analysts showing different results like nx gamer, vg tech and other df content makers like john and oliver who always show clean and fair comparisons, but somehow whenever i see alex doing analysis he somehow doctors the comparisons and claim xbox performs better or if otherwise he starts blaming developers... im just curious..

PS4 version looks like a PS3 game texture-wise. You can really tell they targeted this for next-gen first, then downgraded the F out of it in order to make it run on PS4.

I worry about every PC with my aging 7700k but the demo played smooth as hell. I still need to upgrade asap but it’s nice to know I can still play this next week no problem

prettybsure the 7700k isn't much worse than the Zen chips inside the consoles, so getting at least console like performance shouldn't be an issue with it
It is kinda known how little they actually know bout tech n game software.
Alex is the only one who goes at least a bit(just a bit though) beyond very surface level casual overview of the technical side of games

Yeah but look at the minimum specs of a port like TLOU Part I with 32GB of system RAM…not always as easy as a 1:1 comparison on paper. And I’ve got it paired to an RTX4080, so it’s definitely the bottleneck in my system now. New build will be done in a few months…

John literally makes his own unreal engine virtual sets for his retro episodes, so he kinda knows at least enough about game Software to use UE5 to make scenes and use the engine's camera and animation system
Alex seems to constantly read about and watch deep dives about new graphics technology and talks with developers about it.
Richard programmed their in-house FPS and tearing analysis tool that works in real time while recording.

He is hardly technically better than DF .. sorry . I don’t watch his arm chair analysis anymore . I did like what I saw from this demo ! RE4 is one of my favorite games , I even have a still sealed USA NGC copy .

IMO it is good they are testing the demo. The only good thing from DF IMO is that they can get the word out about some issues and the devs can fix it via patch if it is a simple bug or some serious issue. I think Codemasters and other dev actually benifited from this when SX was performing really poor and had settings mismatched. However it is intresting they did not bother with SS which probably need most attention ?

man.. I am getting everything on ps5 this gen since I like getting physical games but it looks kinda disasterous on ps5 to be honest. Runs poorly too.
I should get it for 3080. It's cheaper for steam and looks/runs better. Although tons of crahes but fixable with settings.
Really poor showing by capcom for ps5. This should not be a crossgen game.
I don't understand why they made some of this choices. Strange there is no all out 30/40fps mode too

Clearly there is more to it than just CU count though as most versions of games are nearly identical. And I believe the last couple of games have actually shown better performance on PS5. Hogwart's and Gotham Knights, I believe. Before that, I think Dead Space Remake favored XSX. So there is a lot of back and forth all gen long. Ultimately, I don't think there is enough difference to make a big deal about either way. I've said this before regardless of which console has the "best" version of a game. For the vast majority, I wouldn't think twice about playing the game on XSX or PS5.

And RT still proves to be a waste of everyones time yet again. So much performance and memory use for puddles reflections or invisible gi....
I really think they should forget about ps4, forget about rt and focus on making proper games.
Look at uc4 or tlou2. it was non-rt possible on ps4. Imagine what we could have not... but it requires a ton of work instead of just lapping RT wax on the game

If they fix the controls that is. Played through the demo 4-5 times each on PS5 and SX and it’s borderline unplayable on SX as is.

Looking forward to seeing if he mentions that the reduced raytracing on the PS5 could be causing the frame advantage....and then when he compares the PS5 version to a pc with a 2060 or something wild like that.
He probably wont compare PS5 to PC with this one because PC is the far superior looking/running version.

Guess that makes sense. Next year we will be at the halfway point in the gen and neither console is outpacing the other so far. Fine by me really as I'd rather use other aspects to decide where to play the games such as game pass or trophies.
