Wtf, wasn't there a recent puff piece about MS dominating the 40 Billion dollar gaming industry with their cloud gaming initiative? MS must be calling in favors, because between their recent blunders and lackluster first party titles they are far from being able to call the shots in such a large industry.

GHG GHG bro you put a lol to the first post but actually it's a pretty good watch (yeah I watched the video lol). Makes a decent summary of the situation MS are in.

After watching it I can say that MS consoles are failing, Game Pass is failing, MS don't have good content but Sony/Nintendo have, and cloud is a shit experience. Pretty accurate if you ask me.

So random lol

Nothing new or insightful in there. Seems like an easily digestible video made for investors.

I watched it and still laughed.

The idea that they are positioned well for what's to come next is a novel one.

Not a bad article/video but also very generic, it’s clear the author doesn’t really write about videogames on a daily basis.

As someone owning a PS5 and a Steamdeck - cloud complements gaming. I plan to play BG3 Act 3 on GFN because I know it runs like shit, however I still like the idea of owning it so that I can replay it later on a more powerful hardware (which I am guaranteed with PC, not so much with PlayStation).

A headline like this could have been made in 2018, Xbox had already lost the console war and subscription services and all their games releasing on PC were new things and they had their first acquisitions.

Now they almost abandoned the service war and are in the process of becoming just a third party publisher, with still some interest in hardware and services, so that's not redefining anything.

What time is it?
TLDW: Microsoft is going from a position of following the leader in the console space to leading the gaming space with offerings like Gamepass and XCloud.

The video seem really poorly researched as they aren't first movers with either of those offerings and, at least with streaming, are closer to bottom of the barrel when comparing their offering to the competition.

Six minute summary of what just about every one here is already familiar with. Biggest problem I have with the video is that it implies you get the "biggest games" with Game Pass. You don't. You get Microsoft's biggest games. That's not nothing, but it isn't everything either. For the uninformed thinking they are going to pay AC or DA on Game Pass.....surprise!

GEFG = Good enough for gamepass.

Shovelware is a step below GEFG and AA is a step above, so I guess they gave us a new ranking.

Their impact shall be felt for generations to follow.
