So what's coming up between May and September for 360/PS3/WiiU? Not much that i can think of.

9 hours is long now?

When you compare it to the other FPS on Vita (COD, Im sure resistance was short too), yes it is. Other games are short or have "mobile", bite sized missions that dont last long and topically a lack luster SP. This is great to hear that its atleast 8+ hours long SP just like its console versions.

Not only that but has tons of replayability with the cash stuff and MP on the side. This is worthy of the Killzone name I say and will most likely buy this day 1 unlike any other Vita game.

PS: COD console games have like a 3-5 hour SP so Im not sure WTF you were really getting at...lol.

I haven't really played that much Killzone but this game has me intrigued.

I might just pick up the Trilogy on Tuesday when I go pick up Dead Space 3.

I already have Liberation too, from the PSN outage.

Seems like a good date for now at least. Not that it matters too much for Vita either way but I don't think there will be anything massive launching that month.

Day 1. Can't wait.

9 hour campaign? Hell yes.

It won't last 9 hours if PR/media says it does. Standard rule applies here.

A lot of it has yet to be dated but the Wii U and 3DS are going to have some games coming and GTA5,TLOU,RER, andTom Clancy are coming as well. Summer may be slow but you need to have more than just a single port.

PS4 is coming out later this year. PS3 has a massive back catalogue of games that currently sells it. I don't know how wise it is to compare lineups of a system that is on the way out.

So four games instead of three?

Man, this looks too fucking good.

Nice single player campaign, amazing visuals for a handheld, multiplayer looks addicting....hnnnnnnnngg.

MM designed LPB, they just made a new version of an already existing idea so that doesn't really count imo.
Well, if we foolishly follow that line of thinking, they're just making a new version of an already existing idea here. So....

WiiU lineup for the same period

4/21 Resident Evil Revelations
6/4 Disneylanders

3DS

6/4 Disneylanders
8/?? Pokemon

Release Dates and even announcements for 2h aren't usually set for the second half until later on. Maybe something PS meeting thing and a couple more at E3.

I'm not saying there is a huge amount of unannounced software to look forward too but just that your using release dates in this way isn't really indicative of much.

Glad it has a proper single player campaign, I was nearly ready to write it off after the first trailer. Visually it also looks stupidly good for a handheld game (looks to have some great image quality too). This and Tearaway are the only two games keeping the Vita alive for me this year so forgive me for having very high hopes.

And Killzone isn't an existing idea?

You're right, that was a bad comparison to make in this case, even though are are some pretty key difference between platformers and FPSs. They may have nailed the level design and mechanics of LPB, but I will remain skeptical until I see reviews.

Vita version of a big name FPS franchise being developed by a b-tier studio... Where have I heard that one before?

Actually, I think it's reversed. You have a top studio doing a so-so name FPS franchise.

I really think they should have gone with an original IP. I think Killzone probably has more baggage than anything else. It's not as bad as Resistance, but I think it hurts the Vita by simply giving it spin-offs of PS3 IP instead of its own games.

Sony's doing it in niche genres, like in Gravity Rush and Tearaway, so why don't they do it in mainstream genres? FPS and TPS? I would have loved to have seen Sony Bend come up with a new original IP and same with Cambridge.

The reason why they haven't put out many games recently, and why they're now a Guerrilla Games studio, is that they spent a lot of time assisting on Killzone 2 & 3. So I think it's safe to say that they know a thing or two about Killzone and about making FPSes.
