I have to say, the fire on the ceiling effect is pretty cool. I remember playing that part of the game the first time thinking "Hey, that's a nice touch". Most devs don't bother with details like that.

Granted, that's probably the only time in the game that happens, but still.. hehe.

This is me using a new face for Alyx, by the guys working on Half-Life 2 Enhancement Mod over at the Facepunch forums. They used the original resources and made a much higher res texture, as well as a few effects. In the final version there will also be subsurface scattering on skin.

Considering he grabs the cloth at two different places I don't think it can be PhysX, the whole thing is probably canned.

Phsyix = Unpredictable, his animation is obviously canned, it would always be grabbing on the same spots and cloth might not be there.

By 2 different places I meant 2 different times in 2 different places (4 if you wanna count both hands).

Basically the developers need the cloth to be in that exact spot, so that implies the cloth animation is also canned.
