How do you place patterns outside?
Just click on the pattern from the design inventory on the bottom screen and chose "Display on ground".

Apparently it's just the ones from diving. I also had a full inventory and had to swap out each time though, which could be part of the problem.

Jeez, I wish Blathers would speak up about the museum extension already so I can gets me some silver hardware. Then again, I've no idea how some people got silver axes already when the game hasn't even been out 10 days in NA.

Just got back from my first island trip! Got a handful of new bugs and a few new fish for my museum. I got gold on all the beginner tours. Even have a Club Tortimer application ready for purchase.
Whole lot of fun on the island in just a half hour. Totally feel like it adds a ton to the game.

You can tell which one's are fake by looking closely at them. Try Googling New Leaf Crazy Redd Fakes.

This thread is ridiculous - all this turnip fire sale madness... I love you guys.
This is my 1st AC experience (ducks to dodge hurled turnips)... Honestly I only got it because I've been waiting for an XL that had a design I actually liked on the clam shell. I passed on the Pikachu - since I'm not a Pokemon-er and wouldn't want to rob the world of one, and couldn't wait till July for the Luigi one. So a few months back when I saw the design for the AC one I sold my orig day 1 Red 3DS & pre-ordered the ACNL XL Combo. The day I brought it home, before I popped in any of the new games I had been waiting for the new larger screen to play (Fire Emblem Awakening, Kingdom Hearts Triple D, Luigi's Mansion DM), I launched ACNL (not expecting to play it past a first look) and well... I put in 40+ hrs last week
This game is ruining?/enriching? my life and I love it. My cartridge slot remains empty
As if my game play commitment time wasn't facepalming enough, I've spent umpteen hours on the OT1 & this thread F5ing for weeks now... you guys are amazing. I've learned a ton and laughed my a$$ off.
I think I'm finally at a place where I wanna set up a town visit, but I'm still a bit shy about it and would rather not get flower raped and town tagged with pixel dicks flooring the entrance to my home
So if anybody's willing to trade FCs who's playing more for the zen/joy/discovery and less for adorable kingdom domination (I imagine a house lined with pelts & previous townsfolk skulls) please PM me.
I don't have any tools that stray from Al on the periodic table if that gives you a general idea of where I'm at achievements-wise.

They boast unique tree stump patterns but apart from that I'm not sure there's much utility to them seeing how every unique stump is interchangeable in terms of their mushroom impact (or so is my understanding).
The gold axe is unbreakable once you've earned it.
