I cry about Xbox and hate PlayStation.

Isn't it one of the 10 best selling games of all time full stop? Like ever. It was printing money during covid like it was toilet paper.

Lol they actually beat Pokemon. Just remember that those cunts at Pokemon sells 2 versions of the same game and with bundles as well.
Either they are pretty damn good or Pokemon isn't going as well as they expected.

Even now I rarely play anything else on my Switch long term. I played the new Zelda game last month and jumped right back into Animal Crossing. I normally buy new Nintendo hardware at launch, but realistically I will just be playing Animal Crossing on it.

And Pokémon had no digital versions. AC crushed them.

quite possibly, it hit at the perfect time just at the start of the lockdowns which saw a huge sales jump for video games in general

I purchased it digitally for my kids during the lock downs. I told myself I won’t touch the game as I I heard about how addicting it could get.

Little did I know I’d be the main one up at weird hours trying to find insects and fish, getting into Stalk Market shinanigans and cultivating the land into a grand utopia.

At 44 million sold, it's the single best-selling platform exclusive game ever made. Every other game ahead of it was either a back-in with the system or was on multiple systems. (I guess Mario Kart 8 still wins since the bulk of it's sales are on Switch but still)

Animal Crossing was a beast!

Hmm, i may wanna try it after all.
I've only played the 3DS Version for short time until i could't get other income than catching fish or something (i can't remember its some time ago)

Played it a LOT on the Cube, even with the GBA cable to get to the exclusive island, it was a soothing experience all around.
Then I played it on the 3DS, but not as much.

I would like to start again on the Switch2, but how's the single player experience of the more recent entry? I'm a loner and I don't play online.

We really are in the worst timeline.

One day all games will look like Animal Crossing

Imagine Alan Wake 3 looking like this…

Haven’t played the Switch game all that much. The online component seems too important to get any real progress going if you want to make proper development. Online doesn’t interest me all that much.

Anyway, the DS game, now that one I have played a lot back in the day.
