I would totally try it, but trying and buying are two completely different things. Eyeglasses is where it stops for me, fuck contact lenses, and they can fuck right off with brain implants, whoever "they" are.I think that would be a very optimistic timeline for that form factor.
It's maybe a gen away from this form factor. Like it's already very close, but still more bulky (outward from face) than the ready player one headset.
Still boggles my mind peoples would not try VR/AR with that form factor. Where does it stop, at glasses peoples will say it should be a contact lens? Then it should be an implant directly to your brain?
Nobody is going to wear this outside in the open, not even the rich kids, looks dorky and would be like asking for a robbery. We’ll probably see some celebrity pretend to use it in an ad but that’s about it.

Uh, both are tech obsessed, full of tech employees with incomes that can easily afford one of these. I remember when Google glass first came out there were quite a few people wearing them out in the open, back when I lived in SF, needless to say, they got clowned.
I remember when the Google Glass came out. Everyone made fun of it because it was dumb as hell, but all the tech nerds treated it like an inevitability and soon enough everyone will be using a Google Glass. Well needless to say that doesn't happen. So just because a bunch of tech dorks with more money than sense decide to drop a bunch of money to be an early adopter doesn't mean that they are 5 years ahead of everyone else. It could just be a bad idea that won't catch on. Vision Pro has a much greater chance of success than Google Glass but just because Apple is releasing it doesn't mean it is an inevitability.

I think wearing a $3500 conspicuous headset in a place like San Francisco where basic law and order is deteriorating rapidly is a really, REALLY bad idea lmao.
I still doubt they’ll be walking around outside de with these on. Maybe they’ll use it in the office around the launch but I think even that will be a rare sight. I’m just not sold on the idea that someone will casually use this like they use a phone or tablet.
