Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

"2160p upscaled at up to 60fps"
Literally useless info.

I expect 720p 40-60fps on OG Ps5

I love 40hz modes becoming more prolific.

Base console 40hz mode will be my preferred way for playing this.

I’m assuming the Xbox version will have the same mode options? It’s where I’m nabbing shadows since that’s where I have all the previous AC games. And I DEFINITELY want that 40hz mode.

I'm not sure if I'm going to buy this game, but I do give credit to Ubisoft for an impressive PS5 pro upgrade.
I hope this will almost be the same ps5 pro upgrade that GTA6 will have. And this should had been the type of ps5 pro upgrade for MHW.

If I get this right, standard RT is GI and extended just adds reflections? In a world mostly filled with wood and mud, reflections seems like an easy thing to skip and choose 60fps I suppose.

Did they test the game or capture the gameplay? If it's at the end then well that's low. What's the point on talking about the res right now? Is not even out yet.

Correct.

Selective = RTGI only in the "Hideout" (home base probably)
Standard = RTGI in the entire game world
Extended = RTGI + RT Reflections in the entire world

not knowing how much water coverage the game has, Standard seems like the ideal solution for base consoles.

There is no guarantee that large bodies of water will even feature RT going by many other games. It really does seem like something one won't even notice 99% of the time in such a game.

I've not played it but I saw the settings you descrive in rift apart when I checked it on the pro.
it fucking sucks. They have no idea what they are doing anymore.
it makes no fucking sense whatosever to have granular settings on a locked down system with no equivalents to nvidia control panel, rtss, changing cpu/gpu etc. None whatsoever

But but THE JAPANESE PEOPLE ARE MAD!!!! becuse this one tori gate!!! OH NO HE IS BLACK!!!
Dude it's a fucking game about aliens. Show me you've not played ac game before....
bet your ass the reviews will be all lower than should be because now it's expected to hate this game.
edit: I mean.. it plays exactly like what I would expect from AC so not sure if that's good or bad. You gotta be for a mood for casual game like this. It's not sekiro

  • PS5 Pro – Performance Mode
    • 2160p upscaled, 60 FPS, Standard Ray Tracing
PS5 Quality Mode at upscaled 4K, 60FPS

There’s the singular mode you asked for. Don’t dabble into the other shit since you only want one mode to play.
For sure. But at which point they should just remove 30fps mode? Upscalers surely make 30fps mode less worth choosing

IQ looks very good - but I have strong doubts that's running from a console and not a PC.
Agreed. Unless it says the platform it was captured on, I would always assume it is PC

Given how good FSR4 looks, one has to wonder why Sony invested or wasted so much money into PSSR?
May be timelines, compatibility and performance goals didn't align for Pro's launch. I would expect some convergence next gen with Project Amethyst
