In fairness romance options in games more often than not are pretty bad and cringe, this isn't exclusive to this game.

The voice acting is legitimately terrible. In fact, every clip of a Japanese person is absolutely terrible.

WTF is this shit?

The romances in any AC game are cringe and horribly written, like most 90% of dialogue in Ubisoft games.

Nothing new there to be mindblowing about.

No wonder i have that grifter blocked.

The grifters are doing fulltime work to drum up some last minute release hate!

I don't know man, dismissing something bad and cringe because "it was always bad and cringe in previous games" is not a great argument to make. Pointing out bad stuff is not a grift.

The romance with Elise in Unity was great and well written so they can actually write a good romance story if they want to. Random romance shit where you say dumb stuff like "I like your sword" and "you look dangerous" two times and then by the magic of videogames logic you are now in love is just bottom of the barrel-tier writing.

Ofcourse its barrel tier writing. Anyone expecting anything different from anything Ubisoft hasnt been playing their videogames the past 10 years.

Ezio's romance with Cristina and later with Sofia was also pretty well done, and his casual flings throughout his trilogy never felt anything like the dumb romances from this new RPG formula.

I've been playing games 30 years and never have I tried to do something like that in a videogame, not even GTA. The only game that I can think off that forced you to do it its MW2 in that famous mission in the airport but yeah, for me removing this it's fine, I dont need it in this type of game

Come, on man. You never hopped the curb in GTA 3 and mowed down a few pedestrians to cut a corner?

Never socked an old lady in the jaw and threw her sorry carcass on the pavement while you were jacking her sedan?

What else, you obeying the speed limit and stopping at all the red lights too?

This is a stupid cop out. I played Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla and none of them had this dogshit voice acting, so if they writing is always supposed to stay bad, forever apparently, why isn't the voice acting as good as previous entries?

Ehhhh

Are you for real?

They all have dogshit voice acting except for most of the main cast. And so has the writing been terribad.

As expected, aggressively mediocre.
Ubisoft needs to step up their game. Good luck for everyone enjoying these games but I can't pay day one 70 euro for this.
Maybe I will give it a shot when it's on GamePass/ Ps Extra.

The voice acting for the last three games has been generally good, you don't get to pretend otherwise because this games voice work is dogshit. And isn't Naoe the main cast? She's terrible.

Cmon man. Generally good? Have you played a non Ubisoft game lately?

While I like this quest, the voice acting is absolutely mediocre.

Some of Yasuke's VA and dialogue is also pretty questionable.

Having him add a hard R to the end of "Nobunaga" was a wild choice.

So it ends up in the low 80's which is pretty decent but we don't know how many of these gaming "journalists" increased their score to "own the chuds". I'm more curious about the steam score and expect it to be around 70%.

origins is nowhere near as sloggy and bloaty as valhalla.
Well,... it sure not as insanly bloated as Odyssey and Valhalla, but man, 88 hours (in my case) is way too much for a game like Origins to finish every story quest and DLC - I've tried to finish everything as fast as I could btw by skiping dialogues of some boring quests etc., but you still have to do the legwork and combat which you can't skip.

Not sure if posted. Click4Gameplay didn’t like it. Bad writing, awful voice acting, not as good as Odyssey or Valhalla which he loved.

I have to check my playtime but it is hardly superior than 40-50 hours.

I thought about spending the extra $20 on the digital deluxe version, but then I saw Odyssey for $12 and Mirage for $20, both of which I haven’t played. Immediately convinced me to skip the digital deluxe content.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Odyssey! *

* Make sure if you get that, get the Gold or Ultimate edition (often on massive sales), it has 2 *massive* DLC campaigns which are bigger than most modern games and do a genuine job of pushing the story forward.
