I do think the dev coming out and commenting on the jank like this is weird and in general should be avoided. With that said I agree overall games like this are going to have jank it is what it is.

RDR 2 has horrible jank.
They way aim cursor jumps and move all over the place, how am I supposed to play that? Its a freaking shooter.

Hopefully the game ships with DLSS transformer straight out the gate but otherwise a swap of it, and running in performance mode it should be ok.

well i checked the benchmarks and a 2060 laptop is slightly worse than a full 1070
but good to know I can play it

Yeah I'll also download the night before the general release. Learnt this lesson the hard way with STALKER 2. Multiple 130GB downloads before release.

The only really good example of games with player selection romances I can come up with is re-romancing Liara in the Shadow Broker DLC in Mass Effect 2.
It's a real good moment and builds on the first game, and Liara is not available in the base ME2 game so its an extra 'reward' seeing the dedicated cut-scene.

True. Outer worlds writing went pretty hard. I remember a segment about meditation and the "self", got super philosophical and was actually quite good. Obsidian knows how to cook for sure.
Looking forward to this game, probably will give it a go through gamepass. I think Microsoft is hitting its stride with their releases ,with many titles in that 8/10 zone. Will be interesting if they can knock it out of the park with anything in particular.

The play early for extra cash is a FOMO play by publishers to get extra cash and that play only works if they are confident the game is good and reviews well. There's no FOMO if a game is shit.
Its a shit practice honestly.... but I've fallen for it this time. I'm honestly in dire need of a fantasy RPG and I've been waiting on one since BG3. I resisted Indiana Jones' one but this one I spent the money to play early. So they just got extra cash for no other reasons than FOMO. I'm sure they're happy there's peoples doing/considering it.
