It is not a rumor, as Kadokawa themselves have publicly confirmed to have received a letter of intent from Sony regarding the acquisition. Their offer is currently being reviewed by Kadokawa's board of directors and legal team.

I think some complaints are valid; I think better quality storytelling can tell political and diverse stories without feeling like they're preaching and I think that is something devs are going to have to overcome with a lower quality of writing than tv and movies, but also with tv and movie writing getting worse because there is so much demand from writing at the moment.
So much of online discourse has been co-opted by grifters and tourists.

None of that does anything for the vast majority of PS players.
We don't play Game Awards, we play games we care about. This year was weaksauce, and only 1.5 million have cared to play Astro Bot.
Even most the small number of people with a Portal now will get bored of it when the novelty wears off.
A rumored handheld years away that will hold back the PS6 is the opposite of useful or exciting.

I mean.. 30th anniversary of the PlayStation, Sony themselves teased it in the recent trailer.. of course something will be dropped. And while I hope it will be some bombs and jawdropping stuff... with current Sony I fear it could also be quite underwhelming. But let's see!

Lol..I'll never understand this mentality. How have you guys not figured out that state of plays are not showcases yet? They're small shows with some interesting stuff, potentially. Everytime they announce a state of play the comments are like "Legend of Dragoon 2?!" And "Bloodborne 2?!".

Nope, I'll continue to have high expectations instead of self-fulfilling low ones. Hulst has been in power at PS since 2019 and has clogged Sony's pipeline with garbage. Totoki is saying almost all of the wrong things. They need to be out before the gen ends.
