Capcom responds to Monster Hunter wilds PC performance issues

The game peaked at almost 1.4M and is at 1.3M as of right now. It will likely reach 1.4M later today, potentially 1.5M.

Broken games aren’t stopping my guy. People buy anyway. Look at PC gamers who supposedly have higher standards. They’re probably the largest group playing this game, yet arguably suffer the most from its dodgy quality. That ship has sailed.
Those issues are always overexaggerated.

Console games run and look like garbage by default and no one complains.

It'll be lucky to reach 1.4m looking at it's current trajectory.

Shame, a better port and it probably would have. Saturdays rarely peak higher than Sundays with big titles.

Yep. Everyone screaming to not buy day one or preorder are wasting their time. People will always do whatever they want with their money, they aren't going to listen.

It was at 1.308M when I wrote that post. It's now at 1.367M.

If I was Capcom I'd have added to the message: hey PC players, if you want to play decently current gen only AAA games, go buy a PS5 or a high end PC and retire your potato laptop.

Keep tilting at the windmills bro, the 1.4 million of us aren't wrong

We're too busy having fun, you should try that sometime. That's what gaming is supposed to be about, having fun

Yeah you need a PS5 Pro to fully enjoy this game I guess.
Runs much better and looks better on my PC.

PS5 is a potato too mate. No idea why you wrote 'buy a PS5 or a high end PC'.

50-60% are reporting a negative experience. By all means though, keep funneling money into their coffers without asking for better. This is why we’re that low in the first place.

As if a game running well precluded it from being fun. Dumb post.

1.4 million CCU and around 66k reviews, you are hallucinating a world where 800k out of 1.4 million people playing at once are having a negative experience

Anyways I would rather be playing than replying to you so keep on tilting at the windmills

Yeah, so over 33K have posted a negative review. You think the majority with their 2060s are having a better experience? Lol.

Game runs like absolute trash and we have apologists like you typing dumbassery and defending a subpar experience. Comical.

I love the game, but I get tired of developers throwing out useless advice without being transparent what the actual issues are that effect everyone up to high-end hardware users.

This isn't even a PC-only issue, I'm seeing basic problems any QA tester would notice for the console versions that are fixed SKU, and my friend on PS5 is using the performance mode that forgets its supposed to stay at 60fps while being a blur-fest...the game just wasn't done.

Hope it gets fixed faster than Dragon's Dogma 2 took.

Plenty of people are having fun, most steam reviews are negative. Both can be true and mean something. I think there's a lot of people who don't want to encourage this, because no matter who you are, everyone has a line for when they will not find things acceptable anymore, and it will feel bad to pay $70 for a game you really want to play but know the performance/graphical quality compromises will prevent you from getting the best experience. Watching a movie in 4k with Vaseline smeared all over the screen can still be enjoyable, but let's not ignore the compromises.

Also who uses "Tilting at the windmills"? Did you just read some Don Quixote and decide you were going to use a saying no one uses just to sound smart. 😂 Kids these days.

I saw allot game streamers and even influencer playing the game for many hours even coop on PC and it looks good. Ps5 streamers are also stable and look good especially those on ps5 pro. I think majority of the pc issue has been fix. Or they are just using a very expensive and high end pc?

As a PC gamer, i am not surprised. And this is what PC gaming had been for decades. Bad PC ports is the norm for as long as I remember and that is why the recent Xbox attempt to astroturf a fake move to PC will not work. With consoles you get fixes quickly. On PC you can fix it yourself and that's mostly about it.

edit: And yes, you can have a "this works fine on MY PC" situation. The whole point is that the issue would vary due to multiple possible setups. You know, that is why it isn't a console. I learn to live with it, but Xbox gamers who are moving to PC probably didn't realize this change.

The reality is the vast majority of people are having good experiences. The game is reported to have already sold over 5-6 million across all platforms, and the people complaining are a tiny minority on the Internet compared to the total sales so far

People bitched endlessly about the state World launched in and it went on to sell 22 million and become Capcpom's best selling game of all time (so far). It should be interesting to see if and when Wilds will beat that number

If it sells more than World, does that make it a better game?

The vast majority of people are sheep and couldnt/wouldnt be able to tell a resolution or how many fps something is running at.

Its a technical shitshow no matter how you try to spin it.

Valid criticism I call it, not 'bitching'.

Issue with every single “but supporting PC with the same executable / porting to PC is easy just ticking a few checkboxes” thread where people pretended or refused to understand this point. PCs are not console and PC support is complex for a reason (not impossibly so but it still is).

If you have a powerfull hardware and you just want to bruteforce the game disable the texture pack, doing that got rid of all the choppiness and the game now run smooth as butter in 99% of the case, i can even use dlaa for the best possible iq.

Far from ideal, but the game look like absolute crap texture pack or not, so that is the right move.

It only change some textures in the armours, 90% of the textures are the same.
