Looks like 2k fucked up.

Edit: it's already gone.

I have fallen away from CIV. You don't get the complete game anymore and there's going to be additional expansions that change it up mechanically before its done.

I really didn't like some of the changes they made with VI, but maybe I just got tired of playing the same game for 30 years.

I loved 5, could never really get into 6. I hope with 7, they've finally found a solution for the "repetitive boring end game slog" phenomenon.

You already know this ain't happening
Well, then I ain't playing the new one, I guess. I bowed out with Civ 5 after realizing that they're essentially mimicking Paradox and their shitty business model. Haven't touched Civ 6 because of it.

That being said, I still have a lot of fun with Civ 3 and 4 and, most of all, Alpha Centauri, which is still the best "Civ-like" anyway.

Edit: Civ 5 had Venice, tho. Which is probably my most favorite Civ.

I’ll probably regret saying this but I’d like them to take a few more chances. The game plays out too similarly each time. Leader abilities don’t switch things up as much as you would expect. Differing civilisations having almost the exact same technology path and advancements irrespective of their history always seemed a little odd. Regardless, let’s see what they do.

Played all of the Civ's and had a lot of fun with them at times. But whilst VI was done well for console, it had a lot of stability issues as it progressed with DLC and patches. The Xbox version was broken for a very long time and I believe still is for many. Its a turn based strategy. It shouldn't be crashing and freezing late game, especially this far into the games life. So for VII, if they keep patching it over the years, but in doing so keep bringing in new bugs etc. Then its going to push me away form buying it in the first place.

So I'm happy for a new Civ, but they need to work on making sure it runs well and actually properly testing it.

Loathed VI so I hope this one is better but not getting my hopes up. Still play Civ V from time to time, which was a trainwreck at launch and needed several expansions before it was enjoyable.

Usually worth waiting until the expansions are released then bundled into a complete edition or just pick up the dlc for super cheap. Base civ games always has less features than the complete previous game.

Interested to see how this evolves from Civ 5 and 6. Overall I preferred Civ V. Hopefully they've revised and added a bunch of mechanics. They really let Civ VI go on for way too long, so they better do this right.

I didn't know people were upset with their monetization system. I always thought it was a pretty good value. The early DLC cis were kinda expensive, but the expansions were fairly priced for what you get, I think.

And sure, you're not gonna get the same amount of content in Civ 7 as Civ 6 has accrued over several years, but that's to be expected right?

They need to rebalance the unique units, some are good at the beggining, like the Roman Legion, but became useless in a few turns. It's always smart to get the civs with the best late games unique units, like the German U-Boat or the US P51.
Each civ should have a unique unit for each era.
And bring back a Nimoy AI voice to describe the techs, please.

So ready for this, Civ6 is great but has run its course at this point.

Really hope it launches more feature-complète than vanilla 6 and they keep the GS mechanics (global warming and so).

IMO, Civ needs a major AI improvement, above all else. It's just not good, particularly in combat.

Should also ditch the 1-unit-per-tile thing and go to limited stacking.
