Might be because the trailer had FPS drops on top of the lower animation rate. Eliminate the FPS drops and lock to a stable 60 or higher and it should be fine.

The claymation style and inspiration is clear as day, hence the “choppy” animation. Whether or not someone is into that is up to them, but I genuinely dig the look and flair of this game.
