Control Review Thread

I'm liking it, not loving it at the moment. There's alot of rooms in the building that are very similar... let's face it office complex's arnt the most exciting locations lol.

Having rooms change and trying to make sense of the story (so far) is equally entertaining and like work in equal measure. There's ALOT of documents that break up the flow of going through similar rooms at the moment.

I'm just at the point where you can upgrade your abilities. I'm hoping it will become addictive soon and click a little more. Alan Wake is one of my favorite games of all time!

So far on track for a 7 but it's one of those games that has the potential to go all.the way to a 9 once you get use to it. Hard to get into fully however and that's from someone who loves these type of games (story led, psychological).

Let's see :)

Define "mixed"

Reviews seem to be surprisingly very positive.

I was taking a wait and see approach, but I am now inclined to pick this up.
Mixed means reviews ranging between 7 and 9 with no universal consensus.

Control is reviewing like Quantum Break... similar scores.

To me that means pretty good. I'd call mixed scores between 5 and 7, with the occasional 8 and the occasional 4.

But whatever, I picked it up and am enjoying it.

Sadly, it probably won't be a title that sells well. It seems that Remedy took the lessons learned from QB and made this game better.

I can scores between 5 and 7 bad.

The Order (nothing to see here), Killzone: SF (probably the worst Killzone game), Knack (at least it had a fun gameplay at hard) are all bad games imo.

For now I have only been able to play a couple of hours but I like the setting and the gameplay, it looks really fun.
Good work Remedy, I love you. :messenger_heart:

I am sure there is much to this game than you can see playing it as shooter. "Control" has much more thoughts in it than most of single player games. But those thoughts are only understood while enjoying brutal art and all that office hell character finds herself in. I'm afraid most people would drop their playthroughs after few hours and miss the most exciting part. You do need to deeply understand all the mechanics in case you want to truly experience that masterpiece from Remedy. That is a very abstract review, but the game itself is also very abstract

Wow! Great game! What a unique feeling -
Just finished it!
It’s way more than ten hours of play, too!
I put in about 28 hours doing all the side missions so I could level up enough to do the last mission.
