Lol arguing over a demo
come on guys.

tbh, 1260p on next gen consoles is pretty trash.
I get that resolution isnt everything but when you start hitting 1260p, it starts to look really blurry on 4k screens.
You're lying about what I said just like how you lied about the comparison. You quoted me first crying over me asking for parity lol. But nice try. Go cry to someone who actually values your conspiracies and hot takes.
Have you even seen the differences between the PS5 and Series X, PS5 looks like dogshit compared. Is there a single game where Series X managed to reach locked 60 fps ? So much for the "most powerful console" marketing. It seems this console has a big architectural problem somewhere, or some kind of bottleneck.
Dropping frames like this make games unenjoyable, they should drop the res even more if that makes locked 60 fps possible on Series X, making it more similar to the superior PS5 version.
VRR doesn't solve the problem of low and variable fps : it kills black levels on LG OLED, and you get more input lag than playing at 60 fps anyway.
I have a B9 and it is excellent. The loss of image quality during VRR is mostly theoretical. I see no difference and I compared both modes extensively.
Is nobody going to talk about the difference in not only the colour from both PS5 and Series X but also the fact the PS5 version doesn't react to lighting that much compared to Series X, there is definatley stuff drawn back on the PS5 version.
Gears 5 is a locked 60fps as well and it's very demanding on PC, it's a solid 120fps in multiplayer.Have you even seen the differences between the PS5 and Series X, PS5 looks like dogshit compared.
I think you replied to the wrong person.Gears 5 is a locked 60fps as well and it's very demanding on PC, it's a solid 120fps in multiplayer.
Lol arguing over a democome on guys.
Actually a good thought about Auto-HDR, if thats the case the technology is working extremely well.In fairness, the demo has tonemap issues, stated by the devs themselves. HDR tonemapping isn't in the demo at all.
Maybe the color difference is the XsX adding its auto-HDR to enhance the image while the PS5 obviously doesn't have that feature?
That being said, the side by side comparison pics throughout this thread do seem to show more pop on XsX, whatever the reason may be.
I think you replied to the wrong person.
Here you go again with hitman, even though i caught you in a lie about it on another thread.Yeah it's interesting that they had to drop resolution hard and remove some physics, same as with Hitman 3 where they had to go for low resolution and low quality shadows.

So again.
PS5 out here pushing higher quality texture while maintaining 60@1800p.
And people bragging about higher res with lower quality texture with unstable frame rate.
PS5 should be nickname Undertaker for going 25-2 win/lost against the world's most powerful console.

There was no lie, it's a real time scene, ok not " gameplay" as such but real time. So when the PS5 bombs at 1800p with lower settings it's obvious it couldn't in no way handle 4k with higher settings.
1800p is becoming a theme just like 1440p was on the Pro, the GPU just isn't powerful enough for 4k gaming.
Isn’t this the point of VRS (if that’s what it is)? To reduce the resolution of unimportant areas to claw back a few frames? So what’s been zoomed in on here? A corner of the screen? Regardless, I’ve never liked the sound of VRS.How about this from VGtech?

Seems like gimped graphics (HW VRS is the suspect). Source: @Lysandros

Regarding the res v performance trade off. Maybe the devs thought it was worth it on the XSX? Maybe it plays ok without any perceivable hitching or tearing, or they think they can bring it up for release? Maybe the PS5 was tried at the same resolution, but the drops in that case were too problematic? Maybe MS and Sony are dictating the res v performance trade offs? (and if so, I’m with Sony on this one).
Fundamentally, the truth is that unless games run at identical settings, we will never know what one actually performs the best and is the true beast. Way too many variables, and there is no clear winner as a result, just subjective preferences.
I believe that VRS is not utilised, it's just poor AF.You are missing the elephant in the room, XSX with all the compromised graphics can't hold 60fps. So what are this VRS doing anyway if it only adds muddy graphics with no FPS boost?
I believe that VRS is not utilised, it's just poor AF.
Good thing Series has VRS tier 2 as optionThat's the problem with HW VRS as explained by Activision vs SW VRS.
Well we've seen good implementation of VRS Tier 2 in Gears 5. But that's about it, that game is looking awesome, however other implementation so far sucked, I mean the HW accelerated ones, like I said and keep saying, the tools are important to improve on MS side. I remember that mess back in 2016-2017 and sine the newest build of OS is full of bugs, which actually have new kernel, I believe that -- greatness awaits ---That's the problem with HW VRS as explained by Activision vs SW VRS.
So, asking for info is butthurt now? Ahahha. It is a tech thread isn't it? So, what is the resolution on these textures because you're the one stating an opinion (by your own words) as facts. Why you so butt hurt about my opinion?
They can fix that in final game. Some of you need to understand that demo is not final game.XsX runs at a higher resolution and it struggles to maintain 60fps.
As stated in the video, they believe Xbox Series X version needs to have the DRS range lowered to improve frame-rate. Some of you guys fail to understand how balancing frame-rate and resolution works.

You don't understand that the likely cause of the frame-rate dips is because it's running at higher resolution. They can fix that in final game. Some of you need to understand that demo is not final game.

I am curious...honest question:
How many people in this thread are planning on buying the game? I am in on Day One (PS5 version, for the Plat, despite playing a lot of the demo on my PC).
Yeah, and additionally the XsX hits 60 fps in numerous games. I am not sure where the "has XsX hit 60 fps in ANY game" question came from. Listing them all would get redundant.
I am litterally shaking rn!Why can't people just accept sometimes each console does something better than the other. XsX has higher resolution, PS5 has more stable FR. It's pretty simple.
Yet, instead of just being happy with that, people have to downplay whatever advantage the other side has.
Also, anytime Xbox has any advantage of any sort, the same handful of people engage in the same painfully insecure hyperspin cycle of damage control:
Step One: Cherry picked/straight up doctored "comparison pics" from Fanboy Twitter (*cough* Joe Miller *cough*)
Step Two: Geometry Engine is God, Geometry Engine > The Universe
Step Three: VRS Bad! VRS BAD!
Step Four: VRR Bad! VRR BAD!
Step Five: Make straight up inaccurate statements or misleading FUD disguised as questions (for example, "has Series X hit 60 fps ONCE?")
All of our plastic boxes are gonna be okay. Just breathe. No need to get insecure when each one has an advantage over the other in a given game. Hell, this is just the damn demo.
A DEMO.
Maybe the CPU was drawing too much power and they had to scale the GPU back.Is nobody going to talk about the difference in not only the colour from both PS5 and Series X but also the fact the PS5 version doesn't react to lighting that much compared to Series X, there is definatley stuff drawn back on the PS5 version.

Yeah I also find that so hilarious. I remember discussions of the previous generation where there were some real issues like fps going down from 30 to 20 or 60 to 40. Now suddenly we need excel sheets from vgtech to see differences of 58 to 59 avg fps and then celebrate like there's no tomorrow. Why can't people just accept sometimes each console does something better than the other. Higher resolutions with VRR are the way forward and things will get better and better as the RDNA2 features gear up, you can see they are even taking stuff like physics out of flags on PS5 in an attempt to keep up but still 1260p![]()
And PS5 version runs better coz missing physics which affects frame rate and resolution less than One X.You don't understand that the likely cause of the frame-rate dips is because it's running at higher resolution.
I don't what you guys get out of being completely dishonest. lol
I think that's it helluva drug, based on GAF. I turned that off on my CX, because it fucks the picture.Well, glad at least VRR isn't a drug, I think.
Well seeing as your core point was it drops in gameplay, which it doesn't, yes it clearly was not true. There was no lie, it's a real time scene, ok not " gameplay" as such but real time. No so far I am only promised some updates, which will fix it. I mean VRR on PC is awesome, however on OLED panel it's less than ideal. So it's not as great as Riky is making it be? Damn, and you have a top end TV with the most gaming features like Freesync Premium and G-Sync. Well, thanks for your unbiased feedback, I personally didn't experience VRR but gonna with my next purchase. Having constant stream of drops definitely won't make the experience good even when VRR is working at its best.
