Dino Crisis 1 & 2 Available on GOG

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Find Crazy Ivan's VK page and hit third icon for games. It should have a Dino Crisis 2 section with Google Drive link.

Looks like all the links are dead, that Ivan link, anything I can find on reddit etc.

The only thing I can find is the Rex HD Preview Pack, it doesn't do the full game.

edit: Got it, gonna check later if it works with the GoG version out of the box or not.

Thanks NeverYouMind NeverYouMind

DC2 has been on the PC since 2002. Doesn't look like the community has the kind of love for it like the RE games, no similar Seamless HD style projects for it.
It's the big shift in tone I think.

Like I remember liking DC1, then a few years later playing DC2 and just feeling like this is a completely different vibe, fun, but not sure if I find it as memorable as DC1.

DC1 - Survival Horror
DC2 - Arcade Action Game

It's kinda similar to the shift in tone from Alien to Aliens.

Things RE4 added were directly inspired from DC2. Points / currency to buy weapons at a store, game encouraging combat as opposed to avoidance like previous DC or RE games etc.

Yeah they have a lot of similarities. RE4 was where it was less horror and more action after RE3. And that's where the series went.

Classic Rebirth works on the GoG versions confirmed.

Excellent stuff.

edit: For those who don't know, Classic Rebirth is a set of fan mods which improved compatibility for the original versions of the game with modern OS, they also add sensible QoL things and make the game compatible with high quality FMV, Audio files etc.

Easy instructions and download links here:

One thing it does not mention is that dinput file from Japanese version of Dino Crisis 2 must be deleted for it to work. Also worth mentioning that the only HD mods are currently exclusively compatible with older versions of DC2 and will not run on modern hardware as far as my testing on three computers with varying hardware has revealed.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Somewhat baffling that these changes (or these types of changes) weren't included in the GOG release itself, considering how much effort they went through to make it run on modern systems already.

Code: Veronica doesn't even have a PC port .. not sure how that'd work. GoG just brings already existing PC games to modern OS.
They've dabbled with other systems before, but it seems some have since been removed from the store🫤. Frankly if GoG could expand that way I'd be buying a lot more from them(eg. Amiga versions of a lot of the 90ies library), but I imagine the legal minefield makes it all difficult...

This is really cool, but I'd love to see this kind of collection on Switch - DC1/2 or especially RE1/2/3/4 on one cart (or two, whatever, just no downloads). I'd looove to be able to play RE on the go.

The problem with the game is that it enden up being way to arcadey. I mean, you are actively encouraged to re-run through an area several times, do combos and get points. It may have looked like one of those classic Capcom games but it was anything like it. Completely different game. Even bigger shift in tone than RE4 was to it's prequels.

Dino Crisis 2 is one of my favorite PS1 games.
I really liked the underwater section.
Yeah it was awesome from start to finish. I am playing it again and blasting through every section because it is just so well designed.

P.S. If you are attempting to use Classic Rebirth mod on JP version of Dino Crisis 2 GOG release you will need to get DATA\MF_0###.DAT files from SourceNext version on archive.org as GOG release updated file format compatibility for sounds in a way that causes the mod to crash upon reaching doctor's office at academy.
