Dustborn finally available on GoG. Immediately review bombed.

Trash game with shitty messages and agendas plus character design deserves even lower. I won't bother review bombing it but glad it bombed hard in sales. It'll be forever known as one of the shitty woke shit that failed hard along with tons of other woke games this year. And well deserved too.

On the downside, they got over $1M of grants.

So a classic case of leaching funds from government purposely making a trash product. So technically, taxpayers paid salaries for a bunch of people. Anything for a buck.

Why is GAF so obsessed with this random low budget game made by a team of 16 people?

Because the game blatantly features themes of racism and sexism and other bias towards specific groups based solely on them being part of a specific group, but somehow it doesn't get attention outside of the gaming community. Now, flip the roles of the people in that game and suddenly this shit would be on Capitol Hill. It's a disgusting double standard. Piss on that game and everyone who made it and played it and supports it and its "ideas."

What if the devs have a different opinion than you? Discuss.

Bias isn't an "opinion," no matter who it is against. Stop thinking that disgusting attitudes and ideas are acceptable and fall under the guise of "opinions." Bias and discrimination are wrong in all circumstances. If a person or group feels and/or has been treated unfairly, taking that treatment and proliferating it isn't a solution nor a meaningful attempt at change. Think beyond the bullshit.

It’s sad that people wasted their time reviewing a game they didn’t even play. Seems like on PlayStation where you have to purchase to review most people seem to like it.

Yeah, all whopping 210 of them…

Sadly I was beaten to this.

Wouldn't be surprised if there were more posts about this game on GAF than actual sold copies. Just let it be forgotten.

Christ!. Did Kamala fund this game?.

Its sickening how the game is so open with the agenda drivel, i mean not even hiding it. I guess the loons are getting desperate.

This thing was made with EUs tax payer money, so yes, it's our business.
And it will never recover it's budget, so it's a net loss for everyone.
So don't be surprised that people are angry at the people at this studio and at the politicians that approved giving them money, and wasting several million Euros.
At a time when Europe is losing competitiveness in the tech space, and we keep wasting money on useless projects like this, because of some incompetent bureaucrats and politicians.

... this game is funded with EU taxpayer money. So technically the people (especially those from EU countries) have the right to voice their concern over what their taxpayer money are used for. Nice try, cuck.
I bet half those people aren't from the EU anyway and if they were why would they use game reviews on GoG to dictate what their money is spent on? All measly 150k of it. They would try to just stop funding for Creative Europe, which would be a damn shame to be honest. Luckily the majority in the EU that voted for the initiative saw the benefits of that program.

Not needing to own a game is always a bad choice when you're able to leave a review for a game. We see this time and time again. In this case especially for something so polarizing it's essentially a useless metric as what people like or hate is largely going to be based on ideology rather than if it's a good game or not.

That said, I do appreciate the irony of people lamenting others for canceling a game with a "cancel" attack in it. I still can't figure out if this is inception levels of parody, or is the fart sniffing rotting brains that much.

The majority of Europeans don't have a finance education for obvious reasons, and they lack awareness about where their taxes actually go instead of "education and healthcare", as politicians say to the sheep.

This turd of a "game" is just a drop in the river of money thrown in "cultural projects" comprised of propaganda movies and works that will never return any profit.

I donwloaded the Pirated Gog versions... And It sux pretty bad. The combat is so unappealing, the story sucks ass and the rhythm-game moments hit lower than musical mΓ³veis.

Mr Reasonable

Completely Unreasonable
So a bad game get's bad review's and it's review bombing!, if GOG user's and gamer's (me included) don't like a game, that's tough, they are allowed to make their own minds up and say so, as am i or anyone else.
If you ignore the rest of this thread, sure.

Wtf. I am going to assume one or more of the devs is a pedo and is living out their disgusting fantasies through this shit game.

What the fuck happened to Ragnar? Damn, what a fall.

You want free tax payer money to supplement what you pay your staff and keep the lights on, you work an angle and play ball.

Tale as old as time. If you look more into it, the money they received was specifically for social awareness and messaging.

So when you hear people talking about the ills of capitalism (as an abstract concept) and greed, usually... there is not a small amount of irony of the motivation in some circumstances.

Edit: And if you want a silver lining for the dev.... there is a very, very slim/remote chance that the studio was doing some veiled satire. The only reason I am saying this is that Dustborn is so fucking hack and on the nose, it actively does more damage to the message it champions where it is persona non grata in some progressive circles. It is so incompetent that there is an argument they took the money and in turn made parody. But that's some "Andy Kaufman committing to the bit" shit and not likely at all. The dev has double, triple, quandrupled down on this time and again.

Interesting take - I honestly had no idea about the behind-the-scenes with the game. Completely forgot it existed until this thread popped up. Just sad to see him go that way.
