I've always liked the continuity of that spacesuit. I know it's mainly for the purposes of saving money, but I love the idea that the Doctor nicked the suit from Sanctuary Base 6, found it comfortable and just carried on wearing it.

It's previously appeared in:
The Impossible Planet/ The Satan Pit
42
The Waters of Mars

I wasn't expecting
Ellis George to be that tall. Thought she'd be a little kid, but she looks like a teenager which, if she's mature enough, could actually be pretty neat.

I'm finally watching through series 7, after accepting the fact it wouldn't come to Netflix anytime soon, and despite what I've read about it, I'm really enjoying it! Dinosaurs on a Spaceship wasn't nearly as cringeworthy as I expected it to be, Rory and Amy's sendoff was pretty great, it has a cool earth invasion episode that reminded me of some of Tennant's and even Eccleston's episodes, Clara's introduction in the Snowmen is great (although it's a shame that version dies, I feel like modern Clara is somewhat toned down in the things that made Victorian Clara a great character), and I think the Doctor's being a lot more reflective, no doubt in preparation of what's to come and as a result of losing Amy and Rory. I kind of feel bad for Brian though, I hope there was a huge time gap between The Power of Three and Angels Take Manhattan so it isn't obvious that he pretty much convinced them of going to their somewhat gloomy destiny like the day after.

Good stuff.

I hadn't clocked that that was Ellis George.

More of a Susan vibe than an Angie and Artie one, if I had to speculate from her age. More than happy with that.

If you want to finish off Brian's story, watch this. Also bring tissues.

Yeah, I found it shortly after watching Angels. I really can't help checking out Wikipedia and the DW wiki after I finish each episode. There are way too many nods and references I miss in each one for me to just ignore them.

Welp, I'm 3 episodes from the end of Season 3, and I wanted to start posting my thoughts before I start forgetting them. I'm going to be very blunt and honest, and don't mean to come off harsh if I do. And if I need to spoiler things, let me know.
(comments snipped)

Based on these comments - I won't pick out which, that might be too much of a giveaway - I suspect you'll like The Waters of Mars a lot.

Not sure when it happened: The Humble Doctor Who Comics bundle has been updated with the late additions. No Trek crossover, I'm afraid, but we do get some Martha era comics and another Amy one; The Forgotten, Agent Provocateur, Through Time and Space and A Fairytale Life.

Oooo new teaser just came on BBC1 out of nowhere!

Returning in August apparently. Hopefully it'll be online soon.

EDIT:

I found that S7 and especially S6 played a lot better on rewatch.

Teaser was nice though I joked with my friend that it looked like the Doctor was dancing, due to the strobe effect.

August is gonna be awesome.

Knows the Score
pretty sure if you squint and tilt your head to one side, you can see the rani and Paul Mcgann standing behind him.

Oh you tease.

The Rani doesn't reveal herself until the end of the episode with Keeley Hawes when you see her make Paul McGann regenerate into Charles Dance.

So with 3 months to go, when can we expect a first full fledged trailer? June?

Also can't wait for their promotial tour to start,
CapaldixCraig Ferguson
is happening soon!

That depends though, Ferguson isn't going to do the Late Late Show for much longer. When is he quitting exactly?

Looking forward to this. I think I'll go in blind this time again. Doctor Who is just more fun when you have no idea what's coming.

Really gonna enjoy that Capaldi's TARDIS appears to be lit in more Tennant-esque colours (also visible on filming when they're coming out of the TARDIS doors, the photo pasted onto the inside of the TARDIS is significantly differently lit to Matt's era.

I like the look of the logo. No significant changes, it's just been tweaked over the past couple of years. Thickened up for lack of a better term.

Reminds me more of the old series logos, particularly the Pertwee one.

So ... 80 issues for 15 bucks .... are the Dr WHo comics any good ?

I read the Tenth Doctor series and Prisoners of Time over the last few days, both of those were very good. The Tenth Doctor books felt like the best of Big Finish's output, and go to some very dark places near the end. Prisoners of Time is a fantastic 50th anniversary story, with some great mingling between the classic and modern eras. It's a great value bundle IMO, and the books may well go out of print soon because IDW doesn't have the license. Shame they couldn't get the Star Trek crossovers, I think they got everything else.

EDIT: I also read The Girl Who Loved Doctor Who when it was released. That's an amazing story, and could well have been an episode of the show (it would have made a lovely Christmas special IMO). Written by longtime Who contributor Paul Cornell (Father's Day, Human Nature, also created Benny Summerfield).

I watched the entirety of New Who on Netflix a few years ago, and stayed up to date until the end of Series 7.

I saw the 50th anniversary, but did not stick around to watch the Christmas special.

I feel weird for disliking Clara as much as I do. I dislike her to the point where I can hardly bare watching the show anymore.

Maybe this says something about 11, though. I loved 11's episodes with Amy and Rory because I found them really well written.

Am I crazy or is Clara like nothing? If Capaldi is good enough, I might start watching again.

I really liked Amy and Rory, and expected to be disappointed by Clara because of opinions I'd seen here and elsewhere, but I found myself really liking her character, and realizing how the show was starting to feel a bit stale with the old team. I think I can say that some of the weakest episodes from S7 would have been even weaker with Amy and Rory if only because with Clara there's a feeling of things being "new". Can't say I relate to what you describe at all.

Also, :lol at that "teaser". I'm not mad though, I can wait 'til august just fine, which is about what I expected anyway.

Teaser is a teaser. Shows nothing like always.
But a date is good to know, even if it was expected.

Ferguson is around till the end of this year. I expect Capaldi will be on the show around Comic Con

This teaser was trending on Facebook... boy was I disappointed to watch it based on that. Threw my expectations way off. Really the definition of a teaser... they show next to nothing.
