Never read anything like that but I agree on the conclusion. I just have trouble seeing this studio do anything interesting with this theme that hasn’t been told before, they don’t do roleplaying so they have to go with a linear fits-everyone story. It’ll likely be something like this:The only time I've seen religion being pulled off well in a piece of literature in when the entire story/premise from the ground up behaves in a matter-of-factly kind of way towards religiosity. This has only happened when the producers are actually practicing what they preach, they live by it, and they display it in a mundane kind of way--pros and cons and and weird cultural values and all. Its actually fascinating to read a good story written by someone with different values.
Druckmann is a mainstream social media zionist and his posse are liberal globalists with a paint coating of spiritualism; if they have any at all.
So in conclusion: This game's 'Religious theme' is going to fall flat on its face.
1. Believer struggle to keep the faith, break down, gets it back in the end.
2. Non-believer mock religion but finds out that there might be something else out there in the end.
3. Religion versus science. Can higher beings exist? Can science verify it or prove that it’s all bs.
4. Religious war and extremists, player tries to get all parts to coexist in peace despite different viewpoints.
5. Corruption within a seemingly okay religion, dark secrets will be unveiled, highest priest is pure evil and the end boss.
Do I hear a yawn? No? Maybe it was myself
