For some reason F4 is giving me motion sickness. Idk what was changed in movement, but I feel like vomiting after a few mins of playing. This never happened when I played oblivion,F3, and skyrim.. im redownloading those again to see if the camera or something else was changed.. I usually roam around in 3rd person.

So when using VATS with the perk that shows you the info...

Am i right when i assume the numbers next to the body parts are health? Or is that actually chance of hitting/critical hit?

The numbers by the body parts in VATS are chance to hit and you can see those even without the perk. The perk shows you their level plus their resistances (next to their name in VATS).

They'll share it if you link them up after you get the leader perk.

Without that, only local benches will share it but not other locations.

Thanks.

Also, I just realized you can tell a companion to get into power armor even if it doesn't have a fusion core? I thought they needed fusion cores to even move.

Anyone have any good intel/charisma builds? I'm running a Luck/agility build now that is a ton of fun but was thinking of starting a second character that has access to all of the crafting and settlement options.

I cant imagine playing this game without access to all the mods :(

Thanks man. Very good to know.

I'll definitely be using that more, the higher the number, the more often i will target that.

I heard something about level scaling. Is it true that the game locks foes' level when you visit a place for the first time ?

Yeah, the area locks to your current level.
It's fucking weird.

there is no level scaling

That's untrue, you can test it by fucking around with the console commands.
New areas lock to your current the first time you visit. I went 100 to fuck around and after going south a bit, suddenly everything jumped to my level.

Even Bethesda's store has errors - ordered Fallout 4 Energy Weapons and Lockpick bobbleheads, got two Energy Weapons bobbleheads instead.

Bethesda!!!

Girlfriend has been pretty much spending 80% of her time building her settlement. It's coming around pretty nicely. Inspired me to spend more time on mine and damn, I love it. I hope one of the DLCs coming out expands on it.

A few things:

Drinking Buddy
moves next to a bar if you build one. So awesome. I just wish the quest would complete without having to give him up.

Don't highlight if you don't want to ruin the surprise but I found a pretty awesome NPC to send to Sanctuary Hills.
It was pretty awesome finding the Vault-Tec Rep from the beginning of the game.
If you set up a Level 3 Trader Stand and assign him to it, they'll make it go to Level 4.

By the way, kudos to whoever mentioned that Strong will deter settlers from your settlement if you have him placed there. Soon as I sent his ass to somewhere else, three settlers in an hour. Just built up a nice marketplace.

Can certain (Legendary) Deathclaws actually heal themselves? I swear i had half of this fuckers health gone and then bam.....all his health was back. Noooooo!

With lack of skill system perks should not be level locked.

For instance I want to make a stealth character but I got to level up into my mid 20s before I can even finish perking to be good at stealth, 30s if I want to final stealth perk. It's not one of those skills like weapon damage that just makes you weaker if not perked, you either stealth successfully, or you don't stealth successfully.

In 3/NV could just tag it as a favoured skill and dump points into it quickly and have the skills to stealth successfully in a few levels.

This system blows. Really limits how you build a character.

So I killed this raider in power armour. I can take the pieces...but I can't take the frame even if I add a fusion core to it. Unless I am missing something.

How can I take the frame?

They can mutate which gives them all of their health back and makes them a little stronger. In my experience they mutate if you don't kill them fast enough, but I might be wrong.

Question about Piper relationship:
She's told me about her dad, but when I choose the relationship option she says the same things she did before. How does it actually work?

Why wont any of my companions equip anything? I don't understand. I put it in their inventory, and I press equip and they dont change. Any tips? Is the game bugged?

All legendary enemies get a second wind and have their health restored, unless you alpha the living hell out of them before they can.

But I think deathclaws can heal anyway, I know I've crippled them before just for them to start healing that limb.

Keep doing good stuff and then flirt a bit when she talks to you again.
When you max out your friendship you can romance her.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
So when using VATS with the perk that shows you the info...

Am i right when i assume the numbers next to the body parts are health? Or is that actually chance of hitting/critical hit?

Where to start...

The numbers next to each body part does refer only to hit%, you will notice them change in slo-mo as the enemy moves about behind cover or if an arm twists out of view, etc...

The solid bars UNDERNEATH those numbers are the general state of the limbs(not health). If you keep attacking an arm enough for instance, in VATS you may notice that arm's bar will be empty compared to the other limbs. That limb is disabled and therefore the enemy may have trouble aiming now, or it may be dizzied or blind if it's the head, or if a leg goes out, then it will be slowed and have trouble rushing you, etc...

The perk that shows more info refers to the red info bar at the top of the screen in VATS. It shows the monsters overall level, and various icons stating its defense attributes. You will see a shield icon which refers to general ballistic power, or a lighning icon which is for energy based damage, etc... The higher those numbers, the less damage that type of ammo/attack will do to the enemy.

You might have experienced the 'rubberbanding' Bethesda talked about using in place of the scaling they've used in the past.

The economy is totally broken once you start building industrial water purifiers. I have 1000-2000 caps waiting for me (in purified waters) every time I go to Sanctuary now. All of my other Settlements can crash and burn for all I care.

To expand on that, legendaries can "mutate" to restore themselves to full health if they dip below 50%. If you one-shot them before they hit 50% they'll just die and skip their second wind.

Having a critical saved for the headshot is nice for that.

How do you get caps?

My god this settlement system is confusing..

Is there any GOOD place for settlements that doesnt have non removable houses?

S*** is annoying

The island. The drive-in to an extent since it has a huge open field

Hm, are you trying to give them guns? Because they need ammunition or else they just immediately switch back to their defaults. Attire should be instantaneous though (barring Strong, who needs special equipment).

Strong couldnt wear Grognak attire, I was devastated :(

Does sneak/stealth eventually become worthwhile? I'm 3 points into the perk now and I'm still living my life in [Caution] no matter how slow I move.

My god this game is amazing. Struggled early on (survival mode) but feel like it's worth it now at level 18. Combat is fantastic, you really have plan out encounters and try to take out weakspots and not get cornered. Don't think I'll ever get tired of blasting off the legs off ferals and then going around taking them out with headshots. The 'feedback' in combat is great.

I'm also reaaaally digging the graphics. The lighting is gorgeous, as is the creature and (generally) character models.

I just found my way into Marowski's Chem Lab. Took me long enough to figure out how, but I love that type of puzzle-solving.

So, I bought the Overseer's Guardian gun in
Vault 81
. This has to be the most OP gun in the game. I'm one shouting stuff I shouldn't be one shotting.

Yes, yes it is. Its still one of my go-to guns when I need to get serious close to 100 hours in. The other being a double shot 6 crank laser musket

I'm loving this outfit.

I'm so torn.

I want to side with The Institute because they're the most "mysterious" of the factions and I feel like we could get some super cool DLC stuff from that. But they aren't about protecting the greater good, just themselves it seems.

But I also feel like I should side with The Railroad. They're super boring and all, but they are essentially the "good guys" in the story since they're trying to make both Synths and Humans co-exist

Fuck the Brotherhood of Steel though, they're basically trying to commit mass genocide and all of their quests suck ass.

What did you guys do?

Thanks alot, very helpful.

From now on i am going to aim at arms from raiders more, should be great if they have trouble aiming. I love that kind of stuff in games. Reminds me of Rainbow Six Raven Shield where a terrorist would really walk with a limp if shot there or have trouble aiming, same for the player. Too few games have that nowadays.
