I would imagine that it's pretty common for big e-sports players to have PR handlers managing their social media presences, even in instances where the player wants to be proactive on their Facebook and Twitter accounts.
No it feeds further into Triforce being a scumbag.

not surprising that a manager has a hand on its team members social media. Its a development company afterall!
But I don't think its common in big name sponsorship companies like Curse, EG, C9, and etc

that's a good question and something i didn't take into account.
triforce complained that players were not actually PROMOTING or DOING THEIR JOB when he got them a sponsor, so in his usual penchant for trying to do everything himself, maybe he shadow promoted twitter sponsorships to give the illusion that his EMP players were actually doing what they were seldomly paid for.

Marvel confirmed main game. It had a better day for viewers at home and had two streams during top 32 to top 8. They should have shown USF4 then Marvel
so I could have gone to sleep right after USF4.
It actually makes more sense at this point.
I know SF4 is the main event, but it's also the more international game and that timeslot is a killer for east coast and especially Europe.
Marvel top-8 has also been more exciting than SF top-8 all four years since MvC3 came out, so it would end on a higher note

I would give SF4 2011 by a slight smidge, even though that year was legendary with Viscant just breaking all of his opponents down and Rog fighting back. This year it's pretty debatable, because more Americans made it through and Luffy got to cooking. 2012 and 2013 wasn't close though, Marvel was far more entertaining.
It's basically Green Ace's Dante j.M incoming meaty crossup except WAY harder to figure out if someone wasn't tipped off on it beforehand. Doesn't help that this shit is attached to Wolverine either.

I don't get the people who feel pity for Triforce. I wish I could have spent a few months in France, or go to MLG or E3, or even to da beech.
Triforce is a grown man, and his actions or mismanagement is why the organization is in the spot that it's in, and the dynamic that kept certain players who should have left years ago or brought back certain players to EMP has evaporated once Sanford opened the door with his departure.
I'm not shedding any tears for Triforce, but I do wish everyone the best in their future endeavors.

I'm pretty sure the new record is 149k and change. But their was no game on when I saw that number. That number occurred a minute or two after Marvel GF ended during the early beginnings of the award ceremony.
I don't think they're talking about how hype each games top 8 are. It looks like it's more about which game is the bigger draw and has the most international appeal. When each game had their own dedicated stream on Friday and Saturday, USF4 was the #1 with a peak of 76k. Most I saw Marvel at was 60k, Smash I didn't watch that much but I guess it was around 30k since I saw it in the mid 20's most of the time when I checked. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
But when it comes to finals day Marvel and Smash has the better time slot thus those two have beaten SF4 in terms of concurrent viewers the past 2 years. So us SF4 fans just gotta hold dat, it's a sacrifice that has to be made to be the "Main Event" of EVO. If SF4 had Marvel's time slot I definitely think it would have surpassed 150k. Besides we have those tens of thousands of Japanese who probably only watched on Nico. Too bad we can't get any data from Nico about that.

I think the timeslot/other event stuff confounds these view arguments way too much for them to be even worth arguing, TBH. It's an extension of the usual view dick-measuring we're used to. Did we see SF4 peak earlier in it's Top 8 for instance, or still go up and up? Because that sort of hurts the bad timeslot argument too. And what about Smash getting so high despite the WC going on? I've no doubt SF4 is the bigger game and bigger game internationally though (entrants and the existence of high profile events alone proves this, some supported by Capcom Fighters some not).

More good news for the UK scene, especially the North West. We're getting close to locking down a serious bi-weekly/monthly event in Liverpool. This is looking very promising.
2011 top 8 Marvel 3 was the worst one and it was only saved because it had that absurd PRRog Tron comeback/LVL3 against Phoenix.
2/3 matches, sloppy play and just general Viscant domination over most of his opponents. Most matches were a blow up.
I used to think 2011 Marvel 3 top 8 was great back in 2011 but after seeing all the UMVC3 top 8s it just doesn't compare. Thank god for 3/5 Marvel.
