how could gbh be in spite of wes anderson when it was the most wes anderson thing ever made
I don't think the story would've worked if it wasn't made in Wes Anderson's style of story telling

The story was a bit fucking bleak, wasn't it? Way too many deaths both on and off screen, it woulda been..too much.

Why are people just talking about counter football. During the Henry-Pires-Freddy years we never played possession football. We always played a fast attacking football game. With powerful runners and a direct approach.

Counter football is just sit back and defend and then attack. That isn't what Madrid or Bayern do.

GBH is probably my second favourite film of the year (with the caveat that I haven't seen Boyhood/Birdman/Theory of Everything/Foxcatcher/Selma/Inherent Vice...).

4-3-1-2. Play Giroud up top with someone. Ozil/Sanchez as no. 10 innit. Get William Carvalho in front of Benatia and Kos.

I still can't believe that Roma offered us Benatia and we turned them down.

I would play Sanchez next to Giroud in that formation. Sanchez use to play off Di Natale.

I don't think I'm going to watch Boyhood

I know it's good and I love the idea and everything but...fuck off I don't want to cry ok

And fuck the Theory of Everything too because I don't wanna see fucking Hawking fucking my Felicity Jones ok

No to Selma as well, MLG's moustache alone will drive me to tears

Birdman and Inherent Vice both sound like my kinda movies

I watched History of Violence the other day, i didn't realise it was one of his. I had missed the charm of those "small american town" films.

I think Giroud can be great against certain defences, but I also think he plays much better with a strike partner, and Wenger has long since jettisoned that idea.

The fact is, when we played 2 up front we won the league and haven't done anything since we switched to a lone forward.

that guy who stars in that hawking film... is it me or does he look so much like glenn close?

and boyhood really won't make you cry. it's not a particularly sad film.

wilbert, what's your favourite film of the year so far?

FA Cup weekend kicking off :D

I'm mainly happy about it because I get a weekend off from football, and it puts us a week closer to Sturridge's return. Wouldn't be surprised if we fucked up on Monday, and I would be surprised if we didn't fuck up next weekend.

I think Pride might be the best film I've seen (fairly) recently.

I watched The Guest because of Yurt. I liked it (in a goofy sort of way).

Thank you Yen.

'The Kings of Summer' is on film4 tonight. No idea if it's good, but it's the debut film from the guy who is making the Metal Gear Solid movie, and before that, King Kong Origins: Skull Island.

Anything about growing up and family stuff will probably drive me to the edge tbh :lol because I didn't have a particularly normal childhood :lol (very poor, parents not around etc)

"OH GREAT so he had his loving parents growing up and he owns a bike...tissue please?"

Much as I'll be hoping for it, I doubt you'll fuck up against us on Monday.

John Wick is kinda the same! Except with absolutely fabulous and masterfully executed action scenes.

And a better cast

And Keanu Reeves :lol but the role was perfect for him for once :lol

There's an awful awful lot I haven't seen. Enjoyed a few blockbusters, probably only loved two or three films.

Under The Skin is by far the best I've seen this year, and one of the best I've ever seen.

I'm looking forward to the Asian Cup and African Cup of Nations this month. It's just a shame no terrestrial channel has any tv rights, Sky/Eurosport have bought them.

best film i saw in 2014 was Dragonball Z battle of gods. He had everything.

Action: check
comedy: check
thriller: check
romance: check
sci-fi: check

I might bounce Citizen Harry Kane out of my top 5 to make way for it.
