I agree that we need players that add balance to an unbalanced midfield, moreso in a defensive role but the problem with Arsenal is that we try to balance it with decent to mediocre or unproven players that have the potenetial to be good. Why did we not go in harder for Khedira, who has already proven himself in the league he plays in, in continental competitions AND on the world stage? I would consider that a bigger and better signing. Yes, he is a Madrid player and they aren't just going to let him go for cheap but still...

One featured regularly in one of the best clubs in the world.
The other played for a Ligue 1 side and Newcastle.
